Exploring Life & Business with Rachel Zeigler of Naked Chemistry Skincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Zeigler.

Hi Rachel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my career as a Cosmetologist after earning my bachelor of arts in communication and disliking the 9-5 working environment. I decided I wanted to do work that was meaningful to me, that made a difference to others and work in environments where I was able to express myself openly and creatively. I decided to attend Aveda Institute for Beauty that was seven years ago… and I’ve been grinding in the beauty world ever since! I’ve worked as a MUA, Hair Removal specialist and hairstylist mainly…but now I am also the owner of Naked Chemistry Skincare which is vegan, sustainable skincare created to prevent, heal and alleviate ingrown hairs!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Wow…I do not think any journey to self-discovery is ever smooth! Add in two relocations, a global pandemic and truly building your confidence and you will understand the route I took to get me here today. As a creative, I believe it’s always challenging putting your work out… rather it’s make up or hair styling or even art..it is scary to put yourself out there… You have to gain tuff skin. You have to work hard to trust your skill and talent and yourself! Being a creative is all about self-confidence and assurance!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I created this brand after working in the hair removal field and being able to identify the lack of vegan and effective skincare products that actually worked for healing, preventing and alleviating ingrown hairs.

Personally, I have suffered many years with ingrown hairs hyperpigmentation AKA dark spots and dry skin. I decided to help myself and the many others who are plagued by the annoyance of ingrown hairs. The best part for me is that Naked Chemistry is made consciously with clean yet effective ingredients that help to hydrate skin, lighten hyperpigmentation and soothe irritation from hair removal for all genders and is safe enough for expecting and breastfeeding women.

Lastly, Naked Chemistry loves being a sustainable skincare brand. We use glass container packaging because glass is 100% and infinitely recyclable, reusable and refillable along with glass increasing product shelf life, preventing light degradation and energizing organic ingredients within our products.

I pride myself and brand on creating safe and effective products while caring for our planet and all genders.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the opportunities here in LA… I love the BEACHES…I love the weather and I love the VEGAN food options!

I love least… the social climbing… the selective club scene… the hidden racism.
