Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadea Egan.
Hi Nadea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career in entertainment. I worked as a commercial actress while in film school and went on to become a television producer. When the market crashed in 2008, the company where I’d worked for 7 years crashed with it and I became depressed and spent a long time struggling with alcohol abuse. I ended up going to treatment. When I completed, I realized I needed to do something meaningful with my life. I needed to dedicate myself and my work to helping others. I took a low level job as an assistant at a residential treatment center and was running that center within 6 months. Since 2012, I’ve gone on to launch and operate another detox and residential treatment center in Beverly Hills, 2 outpatient treatment centers and was COO of an outpatient group practice for 5 years. In May of this year, I co-founded Blackburn Clinical Services. Blackburn is an outpatient mental health center that offers services to treat people struggling with mental health and addiction issues. I am passionate about my work and have created a collaborative space with experts who are also passionate and mission driven. I also married the love of my life in May of this year and have a beautiful 7 year old son on the autism spectrum.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. I have had many struggles along the way. In my early years I was naive and worked for people who didn’t treat me very well. Since changing careers, I’ve learned that the mental health & addiction treatment industry can be difficult to navigate as well, but I don’t have any regrets. Its all been a journey that I’ve learned and grown from and because of. I would not be who I am or have the partners I now have, had I followed any other path.

Blackburn Clinical Services is an mental health outpatient that coordinates expert care provided by a team of dedicated clinicians. Working in partnership with medical professionals and licensed clinicians, we support clients in achieving lasting, meaningful goals. Our bespoke services are available individually or can be seamlessly combined into a customized package to meet the unique needs of the individual.
We believe that true healing occurs when clinical care meets connection, compassion, and a deep understanding of the individual. We’ve organized a full spectrum of mental health and substance use treatment services designed to meet people where they are and help them move toward lasting wellness.
Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and delivered by experienced clinicians who understand the complex and deeply personal nature of recovery and mental health related issues. We offer a safe, structured space for healing and growth.
Our Core Services Include: Psychiatry, Therapy, Neuropsychological Testing, Outpatient detox, Adolescent and family support services which include family coaching and mentoring for teens and adults.
I’m most proud of the fact that though we are unable to bill insurance due to high cost of living for our providers, we do our best to keep our rates in the middle of the market and offer lower fee options for most of our services. Additionally, we pride our selves on being highly collaborative. We love working with outside teams and providers to make sure our clients are getting a complete approach to their care.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I believe who you surround yourself with is as vital to ones journey as what one chooses to do with their life.
