Today we’d like to introduce you to Ms. Lori.

Hi Ms. Lori, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Having lived many years with clipped wings, I navigated through past abuse, abandonment, trauma, mental illness, and destructive family cycles. I ultimately chose to glide in the wind and build a new legacy for myself, those who came before me, and those who will follow.

It’s been a long and hard journey, but I was determined to find inner peace and stop allowing what others had done to me to run my life. I also had to value myself enough to make healthy decisions for my life. I made it my intention to figure out how to live my best life…every day.

One major thing kept me going: hope. I never gave up hope. I knew in my heart of hearts that there was something better; there was something more. I knew I was here for a reason bigger than myself. I had to find it, so the journey continued. I am humbled and grateful to be where I am today. Even with all the challenges that arise, life is good, as it should be.

Having journeyed from what I call nowhere, to being here and living in purpose and fulfillment, I am seeing my dreams come true one by one. It was worth the wait, and the hardship. I have to add that the mystery of what is still to come is exciting because I know whatever it is, it is going to be amazing. I do indeed live my best life…every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth. For so many years, I lived with a nagging feeling of “what is wrong with me”, feeling unsettled and being unfulfilled and unhappy. I kept trying to resolve my past, but it wasn’t working or wasn’t working fast enough. I lived with a hurt heart and a hurt mind with no direction and making decisions that weren’t best for me. I couldn’t see clearly and was not living my true self or anything close to my best life.

I never gave up. I kept tackling the obstacles and moving through the challenges having faith that there was a life for me that was suited for the gifts I have been given. It would be a waste not to live that life and use those gifts for what they were intended.

I quote myself, “He’s my strength and my courage, and I’d be so remiss, if for whatever He has planned, I was to miss this.”

I continue with 2026 as my “NO FEAR YEAR”. Anything that I have been afraid of or shied away from I am running toward this year. Nothing will keep me from what I am destined to do or who I am destined to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I started by coaching business because I have always been drawn to helping others, even through all my own hardships. Now I feel it is my responsibility as a coach to live my best life and help others live theirs. I specialize in empowering women through coaching, mentoring, communications, and hosting workshops and events that shine light on the challenges we face and offer solutions to how we can overcome them. What sets me apart is that I am always simply me. I am relatable, an avid listener, and I embrace anyone who wants to share their story and ask for help. What I am most proud of is that my business has expanded to include a recently published book (Heal Me. Guide Me. Use Me.), a women’s empowerment collective (Seasoned Ladies), and professional speaking opportunities. My most recent venture allowed me to provide a stage for women to speak about their lives, their beliefs, and share their knowledge. I call it “Seasoned Ladies PowerFest – Empower You. Empower Me. Empower WE!” We started a movement that allows us to speak to and through each other with collective energy and collaborative promotion.
I also founded a non-profit for young women of color, ALLOVEME. We build self-respect, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, and leadership skills through virtual events and monetary assistance. We believe that LOVE is Leading Ourselves to Value and Excellence.
My business and nonprofit are ME. Through growth, I offer my renewed spirit and genuine, authentic voice. I am determined and intentional about fulfilling my divine assignments which are to encourage, enlighten, empower, and embolden in every way that I can. This is my purpose. This is my destiny.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I strongly encourage readers to tell their stories. Whether in voice or in writing, it is important that we share who we are so that we ourselves and others can benefit. If your backstory includes having a “closed mouth” remember that not only does a closed mouth not get fed, but a closed mouth can’t feed others either.

Further, so much history is lost because our stories are not shared. We want to make sure we all leave our legacy where someone can find it and grow from it. And so on, and so on…

In business and in life, remember that you are your brand, the only brand that matters. Know who you are. Know your purpose and live it. There is nothing better than living your best life every day and doing so as you are fulfilling your divine assignments.
