Today we’d like to introduce you to John Park.
Hi John, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started Zeglio Custom Clothiers 19 years ago in Chicago with nothing more than a passion for craftsmanship and a desire to make people feel confident in what they wear. I began by working one-on-one with clients, learning every detail about how the right fabric, cut, and fit could completely transform someone’s presence.
What started as a small studio has now grown into six locations across the U.S. — in Chicago, Orange County, La Jolla, San Diego, and Beverly Hills. Each location has its own character, but Beverly Hills has really become the heart of our vision — a place where timeless European tailoring meets California style.
We work with some of the finest fabrics in the world, from Loro Piana to Scabal and Dormeuil, but what truly defines us is the connection with our clients. Many have become friends over the years, trusting us to make pieces for weddings, milestones, and big life moments.
After nearly two decades, I still get the same excitement every time a client puts on their finished suit and sees themselves differently — a little taller, a little prouder. That moment is what keeps me doing this.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started Zeglio, I didn’t have investors or a big marketing budget — just a passion for craftsmanship and a belief that people would appreciate true custom tailoring. There were many times I had to do everything myself — from fittings and pattern making to sweeping the floor at the end of the day.
Moving from Chicago to open more locations, especially in Southern California, was another challenge. Every city has its own rhythm and style, so it took time to understand what each community wanted and how to serve them personally. Building the Beverly Hills store was one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences — competing in one of the most fashion-forward markets in the world taught me to stay humble, adaptable, and detail-obsessed.
There were slow seasons, financial pressures, and moments of doubt, but each challenge shaped me and the brand. I learned that success in this business isn’t about shortcuts — it’s about consistency, integrity, and caring deeply about every client who walks through the door.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Zeglio Custom Clothiers?
Zeglio Custom Clothiers is a bespoke tailoring house that I founded 19 years ago, specializing in fully custom suits and shirts for men who value craftsmanship, comfort, and individuality. What makes us different is the level of personalization — every garment starts from scratch using over 45 body measurements, accounting for shoulder slope, body balance, and posture to create a truly one-of-a-kind fit.
We source fabrics from some of the world’s most respected mills such as Loro Piana, Scabal, Dormeuil, and Holland & Sherry, and each piece is hand-crafted with precision and care. Our clients range from business leaders to grooms preparing for one of the most important days of their lives.
Our Beverly Hills location has become the creative flagship of Zeglio, combining timeless European tailoring with California’s relaxed sophistication. What I’m most proud of is not just the clothing itself, but the relationships we’ve built — many clients have been with us for over a decade, trusting us to dress them for milestones throughout their lives.
At the heart of Zeglio is a simple idea: when a suit truly fits, it changes how a person feels. That confidence, that transformation, is what keeps me passionate about this craft every single day.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success takes patience — real, sometimes uncomfortable patience. In this business, things don’t always happen overnight. It takes years to earn trust, to build a reputation, and to create something that truly lasts.
There were times when I felt like giving up, especially during tough seasons when everything seemed uncertain. But I learned that if you stay consistent, keep your integrity, and genuinely care about the people you serve, things always come full circle.
I also realized that tailoring isn’t just about making clothes — it’s about connecting with people. Every client has a story, and when I listen and help them express it through what they wear, that’s when this work becomes meaningful.
At the end of the day, the most valuable lesson has been simple: if you lead with passion and sincerity, success will follow — maybe not quickly, but always in the right way.
