Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Garcia
Hi Jasmin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Baking has always been a passion for me. I grew up baking with my mom. She would bake our birthday cakes and I loved helping her. As I grew older I of course had other interests and wouldn’t bake as much. Until I turned 20 I got the itch to bake again. So I started baking for close friend and family and through their support and encouragement I started my business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth ride. Starting a business with nothing can be hard. Personally I feel like pricing was the hardest for me. I didn’t charge accordingly, so the first year or two. I was making little to no profit.
We’ve been impressed with Jasmin’s Creations , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a baker that will create cakes and treats for any occasion. What I am currently known for are my sugar cookies and cakes but I also create treats if needed. Like cakepops, Oreos, Rice Krispies, strawberries etc. I also recently began making ube crinkle cookies are people have been loving them. One thing about my business is that I also offer delivery services for an additional fee of course.
What makes you happy?
Things that make me happy are my family, my friends and being out in nature. Family and friends allow me to vent, they listen and offer advice as best at they can. Nature makes me happy because you get reminded that happiness can come from the simplest things. Like hearing the waves at the beach, seeing a sunset/sunrise during a hike or even feeling the breeze.
