Exploring Life & Business with Ekaterina Anufrieva of Trustworthy documents

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ekaterina Anufrieva.

Ekaterina Anufrieva

Hi Ekaterina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally, I’m from Belarus. Life in Belarus was rich in culture and education. I graduated from law school in 2011 and began working in the legal field. I worked as a judge assistant, a law clerk in a real estate company and I provided legal consultations for indigent people through a legal Aid clinic in Minsk (the capital of Belarus). However, I always had a dream of living in the United States, a place I believed offered vast opportunities. The desire to explore new horizons and expand my professional possibilities ultimately led me to immigrate to Los Angeles twelve years ago.

I enrolled in law school in Los Angeles in 2014 for LLM program and graduated in 2015. It was an incredible experience that broadened my understanding of the law and helped me connect with other aspiring legal professionals.
After graduation in May 2015, I started preparing for the bar exam, which took me 6 months of studying and a lot of financial and emotional resources.
The bar exam was incredibly challenging, and after two attempts, I realized that perhaps practicing law in a traditional sense wasn’t my path. Plus I cannot afford to spend more time on studying and bar exam fees. Especially when you arrive in this country with only $400 in your pocket.
Instead, I found my passion in helping others navigate the complexities of immigration law. I wanted to use my skills to support individuals and families who were going through similar experiences to mine. That’s when I decided to become a notary and an immigration consultant.
I used to work as a legal assistant for a year in Software Guidance company in Pasadena. Then I worked in a boutique immigration law firm, where I got a lot of knowledge how to fill out immigration forms and applications. In 2018 I opened my own company “Trustworthy documents’”.
At Trustworthy Documents, we specialize in providing a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet our clients’ needs. Our primary offerings include a mobile notary service, allowing us to come directly to our clients for convenient document notarization. We also provide same-day apostille services, ensuring that important documents are authenticated quickly and efficiently for international use. Additionally, as immigration consultants, we offer consultations to guide individuals and families through the complexities of the immigration process, helping them navigate the legal requirements with ease and confidence. Our mission is to make these essential services accessible and straightforward, ensuring a trustworthy experience for all our clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The challenges were numerous. Language barriers were significant; I had a solid grasp of English, but legal terminology was a whole new ball game. Additionally, navigating the complexities of the American legal system was daunting. I also faced the emotional challenges of being away from my family and the familiar environment of my home country. Financial difficulties were also a significant factor as I had to work and study at the same time However, I was determined to succeed and made it my mission to adapt.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Trustworthy Documents, we pride ourselves on being a versatile service provider that meets the diverse needs of our clients. Our primary focus is on mobile notary services, which means we bring the notary directly to our clients, whether they’re at home, in the office, or anywhere else that’s convenient. This flexibility is particularly valuable for those with busy schedules or mobility challenges.

In addition to our notary services, we also offer same-day apostille services. This is a crucial offering, as many notaries in the area do not provide apostille services, which are essential for authenticating documents for international use. By offering this specialized service, we streamline the process for our clients, saving them time and hassle.

As an immigration consultant, I bring a unique perspective to the table. With a solid legal background and actual practice in the field, I possess a deep understanding of the complexities involved in immigration law. This sets me apart from others in the industry who may not have the same level of expertise or personal experience. I leverage my knowledge to guide clients through every step of the immigration process, ensuring they feel supported and informed.
I want readers to know that Trustworthy Documents is more than just a service provider; we are a partner in our clients’ journeys. Whether you need a notary, an apostille, or immigration consulting, we are here to simplify the process and provide expert guidance. Our personalized approach means we take the time to understand each client’s unique situation and tailor our services to meet their specific needs.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing that most people who know me or my work might not know is that I have a deep passion for cultural exchange and community engagement beyond my professional responsibilities. While many see me as a mobile notary and immigration consultant, I actively participate in local community events and workshops aimed at educating immigrants about their rights and resources available to them. Also I used to live in 2 countries.
I was born in Alma-ata, Kazakhstan. My family moved to Belarus when I was 8. After being living in Minsk, Belarus for 15 years I moved to the USA. So the immigration is in my blood)))
