Today we’d like to introduce you to Deirdre Orr.

Hi Deirdre, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was a college junior (2003) at Tennessee State University, I started helping my friends get jobs by assisting with filling out applications and creating resumes for them. At that time, everyone knew to come to me if they needed help finding a job. I started out as a hobbyist resume writer. Once I graduated, I continued writing helping out whoever would ask.

In 2009, I started my own staffing agency as a side business where I recruited talent for hard to fill roles within Fortune 500 companies. Still during that time, I created amazing resumes that helped my candidates land job opportunities very quickly. In 2009, I also started by career in Human Resources, when I started as a HR Coordinator for a non-profit company.

Fast forward to 2015, I decided to go from hobbyist to business owner. In my 13 years, I’ve helped thousands of people secure their dream job by coaching unfulfilled job seekers and helping them transform themselves into irresistible candidates with the confidence to go after all their hopes and dreams. My clients call me the “Resume Whisperer” because I know exactly what to write to attract their dream employers! I love it!

Everyday I have the opportunity to change lives- imagine that!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Well, no it hasn’t been a super smooth road. I struggled in the beginning trying to find my voice. The basis of what I was doing has always been about helping others, but not really having an identity when it came to my brand was pretty challenging.

Deirdre Orr Consulting is an HR consulting and career services firm that help passionate professionals land their dream job so they can live life on their own terms.

I specialize in transformational career coaching that gives our clients the clarity, confidence and conviction to go after their dream job, earn the salary they deserve, and ultimately live the life of abundance that they want. I’ve encountered so many people that initially felt that they’ve lost EVERYTHING due to losing their job, but later learning that they’ve gained so much more… and more money! The pandemic has been hard for several people. It’s my dream to expand my reach and have the opportunity to work with more professionals that have been negatively impacted by COVID19.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I love wrestling. As a child, I would ALWAYS watch Thursday Night Smack Down. So, every Thursday my mom would order me some pizza, my favorite food, and I’d watch my Smack Down!

I still love wrestling to this day!
