Exploring Life & Business with Clinton Taylor of Coach C.T.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clinton Taylor

Hi Clinton, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Clinton Taylor: A Martial Artist’s Journey

I was born and raised in the fast-paced energy of New York City, where life never slows down. Growing up, I was always drawn to physical fitness and combat sports, which eventually led me to become a personal trainer. I started my career in New York before expanding my work to Atlanta, helping people reach their fitness goals while staying active in my own training.

In 2011, I discovered boxing, and it quickly became a passion. The discipline, technique, and mental fortitude required in the sport fascinated me. As I developed my skills in the ring, I realized I wanted to push myself even further, so I transitioned into mixed martial arts. This shift opened up an entirely new world of combat training, blending striking with grappling and expanding my understanding of fighting as a whole.

In 2017, I made a major life decision—I relocated to Los Angeles. The move was a fresh start, both personally and professionally, allowing me to dive deeper into my MMA training. I found a home at Movement MMA in Hawthorne, where I honed my skills, sparred with talented fighters, and expanded my knowledge of different martial arts styles.

Over time, my focus shifted toward grappling arts, and I became deeply invested in both sambo and catch wrestling. These styles challenged me in new ways, emphasizing control, submissions, and a raw, technical approach to combat. Now, I dedicate my time not only to training but also to promoting and teaching these martial arts, sharing my knowledge with others who are eager to learn.

My journey in martial arts has been one of constant growth, adaptation, and dedication. From personal training in NYC to becoming a martial artist and instructor in LA, every step has shaped me into the fighter and teacher I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been rough, relocating from new york city to Atlanta to Los Angeles is hard mentally. Not knowing anyone, juggling financial responsibilities and cultural adaptations. But in the end my passion and determination lead to my success.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Coach C.T. ?
Building Coach C.T.: A Multimedia Martial Arts and Fitness Brand

As my journey in martial arts and fitness evolved, I wanted to create a platform to share my knowledge, experiences, and philosophy with a wider audience. That’s how Coach C.T. was born—a multimedia company dedicated to educating and inspiring people through social media and YouTube.

Through my brand, I vlog about functional fitness, the paleo diet, and the real-world application of martial arts. I break down training methods that improve overall athleticism, discuss nutrition that fuels optimal performance, and explore how traditional fighting styles can be adapted for modern combat sports and self-defense.

Coach C.T. isn’t just about teaching techniques—it’s about building a community of like-minded individuals who value movement, strength, and discipline. Whether I’m sharing insights on a new training method, analyzing a fight, or testing out different approaches to nutrition, my goal is to provide practical, no-nonsense content that helps people become stronger, smarter, and more capable in their fitness and martial arts journeys.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Going to Connecticut with my three grand aunts Dolores, Ruthie and Shirley. Was summertime or whenever school let out just old school childhood joy. I miss them dearly.
