Hi Bea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I returned to school at 29 after realizing that my Biology degree wasn’t fulfilling my career aspirations. I decided to pursue nursing with the goal of becoming an aesthetic injector. I enrolled in Glendale Community College, which offered an excellent program. During this time, I became pregnant with my first child but successfully completed both my Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees by 2020.
My first job was as a COVID nurse during the height of the pandemic at PIH Good Samaritan Hospital in Downtown LA, a high-acuity hospital heavily impacted by the virus. I worked there for a year, focusing on cardiac stepdown and COVID-19 care. Following this, I joined Dr. Laser’s med spa in West Hollywood, which was a significant step in my career.
Eventually, I landed my dream job at Dr. Leif Rogers’ plastic surgery office in Pasadena. The training and experience I gained there were unparalleled and crucial for my aesthetic career. At the same time, I began Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) school and became pregnant with my second daughter.
Pasadena has been the heart of my professional and personal growth over the past few years. It’s where I’ve built my career, established meaningful connections, and embraced once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. As I continue to evolve in my practice and contribute to this community, I’m excited about the future and the ongoing journey ahead. The door is always open to new possibilities, and I’m committed to growing alongside this vibrant city that has become such an integral part of my life and work.
In 2023, I launched a private aesthetic boutique called beautiTree, nestled within the Burlington Arcade. This vibrant location has become my main hub for offering personalized aesthetic treatments and natural enhancements. To complement my focus on aesthetics, I also collaborate with Dr. Leif Rogers’ office, providing care as needed.
Additionally, I work part-time as an internal medicine practitioner at a well-regarded internist office in Pasadena, where I continue to explore my passion for comprehensive patient care centered in both inner and outer health and beauty.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, the road has definitely been bumpy. Not taking a break during both of my pregnancies while powering through nursing school and my graduate MSN FNP program was incredibly challenging. I had to juggle clinicals, work, homework, exams, and a growing family of small children, all while striving to be a strong role model for my daughters. It was extremely difficult at times, and there were moments when I wanted to give up and take a break. But I chose to keep going, knowing that time would pass anyway. In the end, it was worth the struggle
