Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Jung.
Hi Allison, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Orange County, where much of my childhood was spent on the field or court. The long years of sports shaped my competitive drive, teamwork, mentality, and commitment to discipline – qualities that later become founational in my career.
After graduating from college, I began my professional journey in operations management. While the experience taught me structure, leadership, problem-solving, I quickly realized that the work wasn’t aligned with my passions. I wanted a career that allowed me to build relationships, make a meaningful difference, and empower people in a way that went far beyond day-to-day logistics.
That search led me to join a financial planning team in Orange County, where everything finally clicked. Today, I have the privilege of helping independent women, families, working professionals, and business owners gain clarity and confidence in their financial lives. I guide clients through major decisions, long-term goals, and unexpected challenges – always with the intention of helping them feel educated, supported, and in control.
What I love most about this work is how deeply rewarding it is. Every conversation, every plan, and every milestone reflects someone’s dreams and hard work. Being invited into that process – and being able to make a real impact – is something I never take for granted.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a financial advisor is that this career is as challenging as it is rewarding. Every client comes with their own story, fears, dreams, and financial perspective. being able to step into someone else’s shoes – especially when their backgrounds or priorities differ greatly from mine – has pushed me to grow in ways I never expected.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Northwestern Mutual?
At Northwestern Mutual, I’ part of a financial planning practice that focuses on helping individuals and families build long-term clarity and confidence around their financial lives.
What I love the most about what we do is that it goes far beyond numbers – we’re in the business of understanding people, their goals, their values, and the life they envision for themselves.
I specialize in working with independent women, career professionals, families, and business owners who want a trusted partner to help them create structure, reduce financial stress, and make intentional decisions. Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or simply wanting a professional they can rely on. My role is to meet them exactly where they are and create a plan that feels realistic, personalized, and sustainable.
What sets my practice apart is the relationship-driven approach. I take my time to understand not just what my client wants, but why they want it. Every individual has a different background, different comfort level with money, and different priorities, so no two plans ever look the same. By taking personalized, empathetic approach, I am able to help clients feel supported and educated every step of the way.
What I’m most proud of is the impact – seeing clients achieve milestones they once felt unsure about or helping someone gain peace of mind after years of uncertainty. Whether it’s planning for a family’s future, helping a business owner protect what they’ve built, or empowering a woman to take full control of her financial independence, these are moments that make the work deeply meaningful.
At the end of the day, I want readers to know that financial planning doesn’t have to be intimidating or overwhelming. With the right guidance, structure, and support, it can be transformative.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love best about Irvine is the blend of people and food – it’s a community that truly reflects both. The people here are friendly, driven, and diverse, and you can feel that energy everywhere you go. There’s a real sense of connection, whether meeting someone new at a local coffee shop or running into familiar faces around town.
