Daily Inspiration: Meet Zaybe Bellver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zaybe Bellver

Hi Zaybe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started for me when I discovered drama and dance class in junior high school. I grew up as a very shy and insecure little girl. I was born in a tiny province in the Philippines and came to the U.S. at about the age of 7. I was fortunate enough to have made the best childhood friends who helped me come out of my shell and dragged me into drill and drama class when I was in 7th grade. Ever since I stepped foot on that stage, I realized how it made me feel alive and that I can just be free to express my emotions. Performing on stage taught me self confidence and courage to just let go and have fun. Performing on stage and hearing the audience clap after a performance was the best feeling. That was when I knew I belonged on stage. Acting and performing became my outlet and soon turned into a true passion. I thrived whenever I was on stage and to this day, that passion and love for performing, whether its a dance performance, an audition, or I’m on a film shoot, I feel most alive doing what I love. Life happened and I have had to put my passions on hold. Then somehow, I seem to end up finding myself in situations that remind me of my passion and how much I love to perform. So I finally decided to go back and pursue my passion for acting and have been performing with my dance troupe as much as I can.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been so challenging the last 10 years to fight for what I love to do and try to not give up. I have been through personal battles, financial struggles, trying to balance between my full time job as a nurse and still pursue my passion in between. It has been a very long road for me. But throughout every struggle and disappointment came perseverance and strength to keep pushing forward and fight for the things I love. Acting became my escape from reality, it allowed me to let myself forget even for that moment, how hard life truly has been. I danced whenever I felt sad or broken.. it was my therapy, and still is to this day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Registered Nurse with years of nursing experience. I have worked in the emergency room, cardiac unit, oncology unit, home health setting, private duty, I was a Covid swab nurse during the pandemic, you name it, I have done it. I am now a Traveling Registered Nurse Case manager. I travel between LA and Las Vegas and it has been a great experience. But my true passion will always be acting and dancing which I am currently pursuing in the hopes that one day I will be a full time actress and be able to make a living doing what I love. I still perform with my burlesque dance troupe under Charlene Rose Dance company and have upcoming performances in the next few months in LA. I have been pursuing acting for more than 20 years and have been fortunate enough to have worked on several tv series, landed a commercial that aired nationwide, produced and directed three short films of which one of them was made for the 49hr film festival. All three films won several awards and went through the festival circuit and screened at The Golden State Film Festival at the iconic Mann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Two of my short films won awards, one for Best Dark Comedy which was “ Blood Moon Overtime”. The other film “ Killer Highway” won for Best Horror short, both from The Golden State Film festival. I currently finished filming a pilot for “ Shadow Unit” a crime tv series that is now in post production and soon to air on one of the major streaming platforms. I have a few upcoming projects towards fall this year. One is for a tv mini series called “ The Glass Stars” which will film in Seattle. I am so excited and grateful for the opportunities I have been given and look forward to more opportunities and doors that will open for this year and years to come.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I just wanted to let the readers know that dreams do come true as long as you believe and not give up. Keep pushing forward and work towards your goals everyday. One day soon enough, someone will open that door and you will have your time to shine.
