Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Stelter
Hi Rachel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always identified as a creative. As a kid I LOVED doing arts and crafts, and spent several years doing black and white film photography in high school. I just didn’t quite know how to translate my creativity into a career.
I got a BFA in Fashion Design and started out in the fashion industry but quickly burned out. That’s when I turned back to photography as a creative outlet. For the last 10 years I’ve been a wedding and portrait photographer in LA!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is full of navigating challenges — knowing when to say no, set boundaries, and being confident in my pricing has been a journey. The pandemic also threw a big curve ball (as it did for all of us). In 2020, as a new mom, I lost almost all of my work with weddings being cancelled.

Beyond taking the photos, my speciality is in helping couples and families turn their images into beautiful printed pieces. I design gorgeous albums and wall art and it’s been so validating getting to provide this as a service for my clients. I hear from SO many people that they “meant” to print their wedding photos, or families who intended to put family portraits on their walls but never got around to it.
The reality is life happens and it can be overwhelming trying to make decisions on what to print. Decision paralysis is a real thing — it’s been really impactful working with my clients on a deeper level, and creating meaningful, printed artwork that will be in their family for a long time to come.
I’m proud to be able to offer this as a boutique service for my clients.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
After exiting the fashion industry, I worked for 3 years at a wine start up (while building my photography business on the side).
