Daily Inspiration: Meet Gordon Zhou

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gordon Zhou.

Gordon Zhou

Hi Gordon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
PH8 Foundation was started in 2015. A group of friends and I came together with the same mindset to help others. We’ve held multiple fundraisers all over LA to help aid developing countries in need of clean water and sanitation. Today we’ve helped eight countries like Uganda, Ghana, Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, El Salvador, Kenya, and Nepal.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Safe to say, with every business starting out it’s never easy. We had a lot of roadblocks along the way, but every time a problem was resolved, it got easier. One advice I will add is when you work from a place of love, passion, and a purpose to serve others (with the expectation of not getting anything in return), great opportunities arise.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Besides being a cofounder of PH8 Foundation. I’m a tattoo artist! I started tattooing about a year and three months ago. During Covid, I took the hardest financial hit. And I was in search of reinventing myself. Tattoo came about when I reached out to my artist/dear friend and now mentor Sasha. She gave me all the necessary tools to be where I’m at now with my career, and I’m deeply sincere for her help. I’m proud that I am relentless and never gave up.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
With PH8 Foundation, I hope in due time we raise enough money to fund our next big project in Nepal! Our next mission is to help 80 schools build sustainable clean water plus sanitation (exp, latrines). Also a release of our documentary from all of our mission trips.

With tattooing being better at my craft and doing more custom work. And being fully booked. Also, partnering with big brands

Pricing:

  • Currently, my tattoo rates start at $300 minimum
  • Big pieces vary at this moment! But currently, my full-day rate is $2,000
  • But most of the time, I also offer deals and free tattoos on my Instagram @ohgordn
