Hi GoodeBlazer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I am GoodeBlazer and I am a songwriter based here in LA. I originally hail from northeastern NC, but I most recently lived in New York for a solid chunk of time. So, I am fairly new to the West Coast and loving it. My journey as a songwriter began in 2018 while I was working in the film industry in NYC. Now that I think about how it all came to pass, it’s quite mind blowing. I just dove in headfirst and never looked back. Now I’m here in The Land to completely lock in and take this to the next level.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, the journey hasn’t been smooth sailing but that’s, honestly, where the good stuff lives. All of the tears, heartbreak, disappointment, and pain can eventually service the creative. That’s the great thing about the gift of songwriting. I have an innate ability to transmute ugliness into beauty. With that being said, I believe the most recurring obstacle is, and will be, one’s self. That will look and feel differently for each of us, but I think the goal is to recognize it, conquer it, and repeat. Simple as that.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a songwriter, my work is rooted in authenticity and emotional depth. I specialize in crafting lyrics that connect deeply with people, whether it’s through introspective storytelling or exploring universal themes. I believe in the power of words to evoke feelings and provoke thought, and I strive to create songs that resonate long after the final note.

I’m known for my ability to blend personal experiences with broader, relatable emotions. I often draw from events in my own personal life but ultimately relay the concept utilizing universal relativity so that listeners can find their own meaning in the record. That connection is what drives me—creating something that resonates with someone across the globe, even though it is derived from my heart.

I also believe that great songwriting is as much about melody as it is about words. I put a lot of care into ensuring that the music enhances the emotional journey of the lyrics, creating a fully immersive experience for the listener.

What sets me apart is my can-do disposition, impeccable work ethic, and high aptitude for professionalism. I thrive best in collaborative environments that value creativity, ingenuity, and altruistic perspectives. That’s what keeps me motivated, and what I hope continues to set me apart in my work.
