Today we’d like to introduce you to Ganna Bubnova.
Ganna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Ukraine. Unfortunately, there’s a war going on in my homeland so you might’ve heard about it quite often recently. We are best known for being brave and courageous so let me give you a bit more of a story about my life! Growing up, I had passion for the arts, and I was involved in school plays, dancing competitions and theater.
After high school, I attended Academy of the Interior Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and earned a B.A in English and French languages. At the moment I fluently speak four but ain’t stopping here!
I always had a strong desire for exploring new places, food, cultures so that’s what made me a full-time traveler. I’ve started my journey in the States while getting my first summer job back in 2009. When the student exchange program ended, I realized that it’s just the beginning of a lifetime passion for traveling. That summer absolutely changed my life! After that, I worked and traveled around the world. While learning so many things in a short period of time I got immersed in a crazy lifestyle and totally forgot about the passion that I had since I was a little girl. I’m talking about Acting. Something I could be doing 24/7 with a smile on my face. Realizing that it’s time to act I went to NYC so I could attend New York Film Academy and learn more about the craft. I’ve definitely had the best time of my life studying there! It’s absolutely one of the best Acting schools in the world and I couldn’t be more blessed to have been given an opportunity to learn from the best. Next step LA and its beauty and opportunities. I moved to Los Angeles early winter four years ago and since then been consistently taking acting classes while booking short films, A-list music videos and commercial campaigns.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I used to feel that having an Eastern European accent would make it much more difficult for me, but I soon realized it actually set me apart from others and having an accent can, indeed, make one unique and help with getting desired roles. Everyone has a niche in this industry so this is mine.
I absolutely love challenging myself and working hard every single day toward achieving my goals. Imagine a foreign student coming to L.A. and having it all started from the bottom. But I know what it takes to become who I am today and I’m absolutely ready to work even harder. Having a few auditions a day definitely makes you a stronger actor. It’s like an engine that never stops.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an actor, model and a hustler. I’m proud to be where I’m at nowadays as I have a strong determination and commitment when it comes to achieving goals.
Being in the industry, there were a hand full of opportunities I have taken. No matter how small or big they were it’s the experience I wanted to live through. I was able to work on a new reality show and I can’t wait to tell you more about it! Got to be a face of a major brand called “IQOS” and landed a lead role in a new Creature Canyon music video. I’ve also worked on many International collaborations with sports brands this past year as I finally had a will to transform my body to a pro fitness level! They were all amazing experiences especially during the many auditions I had to go through. It’s been a pretty interesting roller coaster, but there’s a light to every end of a tunnel and I look forward to more projects to come!
Any big plans?
At this moment, I’m very present and not planning on any big changes. That’s exactly when those are coming (laughing)! I feel like we’ve gotten to a place where it’s more difficult to stop, breathe out and just live. This coming year I’d love to devote more time to myself, friends and family. Also, there’s a new trait I learnt recently: Don’t tell people your plans. Show them your results.
