Today we’d like to introduce you to FZ.
FZ, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For all my life I’ve been immersed in the entire spectrum of Music. I have lived most of my life in Lafayette, Louisiana and it is quite literally the Gumbo of our society. Not only a sweet spot it, is also a savory spot of culture where it has its signature parts while it also contains a wide variety of human culture that we know and love in terms of Art in the form of Music. Through my parents I was exposed to every form of music and cultivated a strong love for good music in all forms. HipHop has always stood out to me as the form of Music that is capable of blending every other genre into One. This is what made it my main modality in terms of how I express myself through art. Once I moved away from Louisiana to California I became a devout student of grammar and writing. Learning the technical skills of writing and fusing it with the intuitive abilities of HipHop is what allowed me to express the fully spectral nature of myself in a completely signature way. I have this deep innate reverence for The Source of Life and so I Am able to peer into every thing in the world and hear the song that it sings. Whether it is a blade of grass, a grain of sand, an atom or an entire Universe I feel what it is singing and how it has its own form of praise and Reverence for Life itself. All of my expressions are premised in this Sight.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not always been smooth yet it’s the texture of life where different truths are able to reveal themselves. I’ve always had pure love for Music but I was once a basketball player following the path of thinking that’s what I would always do. In my college years I awoke to a Truth that forever altered Me and made Me remember who I have always been. The Truth of the Nature of Life and my place in it. Once I lost my identity as a basketball player I went through an identity crisis of sorts where I had to learn to reinvent myself which meant learning what it would take to express myself most authentically. I’ve had falling out with family members that felt insurmountable and felt betrayal from friends that chose substances over everything else. The most pivotal lesson was the recognition of my own part in relationships and situations that unfolded in my life. I learn that I always represents a mirror for you to meet yourself and that pointing at the mirror and blaming is unproductive and that self accountability is what leads to breakthroughs. I Am also thankful for the people that have weather the storms with me and came out more connected and stronger through it all. Whiz Fuselier, who is my business partner has been the most stoic individual in my life in terms of maintaining the direction of where we go as FZ and continues to play a pivotal part in the entire journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I Am a HipHop artists with a fully spectral appeal and embodiment. I specialize in unifying lyrical prowess with universal swag and style while being able to deliver a profound message without compromising the fun and flare that it takes to captivate anyone from any demographic. Fully Spectral. I Am known as being The Junction Point Where All Rhythms Meet and inspiring others to take all the various aspects of themselves and integrate them into One Unified whole. I Am most proud of the direct impact my art has had on Me and on those around me. The potency of it. I’ve seen the effect of my Art upon people that are dear to me and this excites me about having that same ripple effect on the wider world as I continue to share my Truest Self. I Am Embodied in the True Nature of myself that is Timeless and can only be expressed through me and that is the duty of every artist in my opinion.
