Daily Inspiration: Meet Fatima Mohammed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fatima Mohammed.

Hi Fatima, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I’m Fatima Modupe Mohammed, a Ghanaian Youth Empowerment Leader, Creative Facilitator, and Founder of the Golden Path Program. I started out in fashion and stage designing, exploring creativity through design and personal expression. Over time, I realized I wanted to use my skills to make a bigger impact, which led me to shift my focus toward youth empowerment and community arts programming. Today, I run the Golden Path Program, creating workshops and experiences that help young people in Ghana explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with their communities. My journey has been about combining my passion for art with my desire to uplift and inspire others, and I’m constantly learning and evolving along the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road but looking back, all the challenges and different career paths I’ve taken have led me to create the Golden Path Program, something I wish I had when I was younger. Along the way, I’ve faced challenges like limited resources and navigating different personalities, and losing my dad was a particularly difficult moment. But each obstacle taught me resilience, and the importance of community support, shaping both the programs I run today and the person I’ve become.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known for designing programs that are hands-on, inclusive, and tailored to meet the needs of each participant, and for creating a safe, nurturing space where creativity and self-expression are encouraged.

What I’m most proud of is seeing the transformation in the youth I work with, watching them gain confidence, discover new skills, and realize their potential is incredibly rewarding. What sets me apart is my combination of creativity, empathy, and lived experience. Having navigated multiple career paths and personal challenges,  I bring resilience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of how to empower others to grow and thrive. I don’t just teach skills; I guide young people to uncover their own voice and vision, and that’s what makes the work truly meaningful.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Family, friends, and fellow artists also have been amazing cheerleaders, offering guidance, encouragement, and sometimes just a listening ear when things got challenging.

The youth themselves are also a huge part of the program’s success. Their curiosity, creativity, and feedback constantly inspire me to grow and improve.

And of course, the teachers and guest artists who help bring the classes and workshops to life deserve enormous credit; their energy, dedication, and belief in the program make it possible for us to have the impact we do. I see every success as a shared effort, and I’m grateful for the many people who have supported this journey along the way.
