Today we’d like to introduce you to CJ Johnson.
Hi CJ, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began as a creative professional in the entertainment industry and then I shifted into Technology, Advertising, and Entrepreneurship. At the time, so many entrepreneurs and tech startups from Silicon Valley migrated down to Los Angeles, creating what is commonly referred to now as “Silicon Beach”. I was able to leverage my entertainment and guerilla marketing skills into more of a valuable asset on the front lines of influencer and growth marketing. From there, I just kept adapting as the marketplace evolved.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always struggles and setbacks in life but that’s the perfect opportunity for you to show the universe what you’re made of. Listen, I’ve faced everything from racism, sexism, and ageism. All of the ‘isms, lol. I’ve had dream opportunities fade into dust overnight for circumstances out of my control. I’ve failed many, many times. Even experienced Game of Thrones-like situations in workplaces. It is what it is. Those are all learning lessons that always end up providing me with a special edge of well-rounded experience. What I’ve learned is that all of those struggles provide valuable lessons and experiences. Struggles ultimately build character. Your wins are much sweeter. Your success story is much more inspiring to others. Embrace the struggle. Just keep breathing. Trust your gut. Keep it moving. You’ll see that you can overcome anything.

I’m an award-winning storyteller, content creator, and media strategist. I deliver creative and uplifting content to hundreds of thousands of social media followers that include celebrities, world-class athletes, TV personalities, political leaders, and others around the world. As the former co-founder of a top ad agency – J&J, I am also considered one of the leading global minds on the creator economy, social media marketing, brand strategy, and cultural trends. I’m so proud that I’ve been able to successfully support entrepreneurs, creatives, and small businesses most of all. Especially supporting emerging generations that’s been especially amazing.
Any big plans?
I’ve finished writing my first book, “The Maguire Method”. It’s a four-core principle method that examines our modern-day challenges and reveals how we can overcome today’s challenges, ultimately finding newfound success and happiness. We live in an age of uncertainty, bombarded by distractions, challenged by cultural shifts, a rise in depression, social anxiety, and more. My book offers a dose of raw, refreshing honesty that is sorely lacking today. “The Maguire Method” reflects our times. I can’t wait to share more of it with the world. Outside of that, I’m going to continue to offer inspiration and insight to anyone that needs it. Professionally and personally, we need to explore more ways to lift each other up.
