Daily Inspiration: Meet Briana Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Jones.

Hi Briana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am the owner of .3Rose Photography.

I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. But I reside now in Detroit, MI and have been here for about ten years. Both cities are near and dear to my heart.

Ever since I could remember, I was always in front of a camera. Thanks to my lovely cousin Kinda Clark and her amazing camera abilities she captured a lot of first “model shots”. I honestly thank her so much for it because it helped me with gaining that confidence I needed when I decided to step into the modeling world once I moved from Flint to Detroit.

While in Detroit, I was able to work with a lot of awesome photographers, some of whom I’m still close with today and look to as a mentors. After a while, I became interested in the editing factor of photography and that turned into actually wanting to shoot those photos myself. I was given an opportunity to shoot my friend’s engagement photos that turned out really nice! I received a lot of support from friends and family. Because of that love and support I received, I’m here today with my business and loving every minute of it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been super rough, but it hasn’t been easy either. Unfortunately, life happens and sometimes we have to take a detour or make an abrupt stop.

And sometimes it’s as simple as getting out of our own heads, and I think that is what I struggle most with. I have a lot of confidence in myself, but I can overthink sometimes.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a freelance photographer.

I specialize in Photojournalism and Portraiture.

I feel like I’m known for creating “magazine worthy” photos of that moment in time.

I am most proud of my growth in the way I shot my clients and the editing that I do. Over the past three years, the growth is noticeable and have been shared with me by friends and family. Also, I’m proud of where I am headed after I get more equipment and my own personal space to work on bigger projects.

I think the thing that set me apart is my modeling background (I’m not saying I’m Tyra Banks lol) but I feel as if I am able to assist my clients when it comes to showing them what might make for a great photo versus just telling them and assuming that they get it. Also, I am super big on having good vibes in a shoot because it shows through the photo. So I tend to make it as comfortable as possible.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I do believe you have to be a risk taker in this world today. Especially if you want to maintain a certain lifestyle for yourself. Always being scared will get you nowhere.
