Conversations with Yuridia Maldonado

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yuridia Maldonado.

Hi Yuridia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a 1st gen Latina from South East LA, and I have always been passionate about all things beauty! I started to post online about beauty products and it was very discouraging because I didn’t really see a lot of women who look like me online. There is high beauty standards in society that are really hard to ignore and I felt like by being myself and continuously showing up online that I could inspire other women to wear whatever they want and try new beauty products as well. I am a micro influencer in the beauty and fashion field and I have been so grateful to have been connected with other Latinas and have my work be noticed by brands that want to work with me. I have been able to partner with beauty brands and attend events and I am very grateful for the opportunities. I want to continue to inspire women to embrace themselves and that we are all beautiful!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road because social media is not easy to navigate and we are still learning about all platforms every day. I work 9-5 so time is a struggle for me, and being able to plan out my day is tough because by the time I get home from work I barely have any energy for my own goals but I try to power through.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Besides my 9-5, I create content for social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. I specialize in content for Beauty and Fashion brands. I am proud to create content that uplifts other women to create as well and not to shy away from their talents, I stand out because I love to encourage other women to wear whatever they like without feeling self-conscious, I like to create outfit inspiration for mid-size body types.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always very goal-oriented. I had a list of things I wanted to do and that I was 99% sure I would accomplish. I am glad to have always been humble, and I get that from my mom. I have always been fascinated with beauty products so I carry that into my adulthood now, but just in a different perspective.
