Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Wright.
Hi Pierre, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey with one simple goal — to become a real-life anime character.
Growing up, I was inspired by shows like Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, and Fairy Tail — stories about courage, growth, and never giving up. Those worlds made me realize I wanted to bring that same energy into the real world through my content.
In college, I had no idea what I was doing. I just started making videos on Vine and Instagram — awkward, funny, whatever came to mind. My best friend believed in me before I believed in myself, and that gave me the push to keep going. What started as small skits slowly grew into something bigger — a mission to inspire people who were too afraid to press “post.”
Over the years, that passion turned into my purpose. I’ve built a community across platforms and collaborated with brands like Netflix, Crunchyroll, BMW, Amazon Prime Video, the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, Crocs, Fortnite, and HBO Max.
Now, I use my creativity to merge anime-style storytelling with live-action energy — showing people that you can turn your imagination into something real. My journey has always been about growth, inspiration, and legacy — and I’m just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but that’s what makes the journey worth it.
When I first started creating, I didn’t have a team, a budget, or even confidence. I was just a kid with a camera, trying to figure out how to bring anime energy into real life. Most people didn’t understand what I was doing. Some thought it was “too much,” others didn’t see it as a real career. That doubt — from others and sometimes from myself — was one of my biggest obstacles.
There were times I questioned if I was wasting my time.
There were moments I wanted to quit when videos didn’t perform well or when people didn’t see the vision. But every setback taught me something — about patience, consistency, and believing in your own lane even when no one else does.
Another challenge was learning how to balance creativity with real-life responsibilities. Trying to fund my projects, edit my videos, do effects, plan shoots — it was exhausting. But I learned how to turn that pressure into fuel.
Now I look back and realize every obstacle was like a training arc.
Each failure, each burnout, each “no” I heard became part of the story that shaped who I am. And just like in anime — the harder the fight, the stronger the character becomes.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a content creator, director, and VFX artist — but at my core, I’m a storyteller.
I specialize in bringing anime logic into real life — taking the intensity, emotion, and energy of anime and fusing it with live-action storytelling, comedy, and cinematic visuals.
My work combines VFX, acting, directing, and fashion, all inside one world — the “PierreStepZ Universe.” Whether it’s a high-energy fight scene, a heartfelt skit, or an over-the-top transformation moment, I aim to make people feel like they’re watching an anime that somehow exists in real life.
What I’m most proud of is how my creativity has opened real doors.
I’ve had the chance to collaborate with brands like BMW, Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Amazon Prime Video, Fortnite, Crocs, and HBO Max — and each of those partnerships proved that imagination really can be turned into a career.
But what sets me apart is my approach to energy and emotion.
A lot of creators focus on trends; I focus on feeling. I want my videos to spark that same rush you get watching your favorite anime character overcome the odds. My goal isn’t just to entertain — it’s to inspire people to believe that they can turn their passion into something powerful too.
At the end of the day, I’m building a world — a mix of anime, film, and fashion — where imagination is real and everyone watching feels like they’re part of the story.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like about living in LA is that I get to meet a lot of people who share the same passion as I do. Everyone’s chasing their dreams, and it’s inspiring to collaborate and see what their goals are in life. What I don’t like is the traffic—and honestly, sometimes the energy. A lot of people try to act like someone they’re not, like it’s still high school. That fake, competitive vibe can make the city feel less genuine, even though there’s so much potential here.
