Conversations with Jazmayne Chatman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmayne Chatman. 

Hi Jazmayne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Growing up I enjoyed watching HGTV and shows that showed the behind the scene aspects of production. I remember seeing a set being built on an episode of top model, that’s when I realized you can create anything… As long as you have a vision. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I initially started my Peerspace, I had a bunch of small art walls that I created from old items around the house… They were cute but I wanted to attract a different type of clientele & productions, so I decided to “Think Big” 

The pandemic made most of us want to create a second stream of revenue. 

So, I decided to decorate my space from floor to ceiling, so it could be a sought-after place for people to shoot the music videos photos shoot, and social media content. 

In the last year and a half since we’ve opened, we’ve been blessed to have rapper Lil Wayne, Papoose, Dan Rue, The Little Women of LA, and more. 

My biggest hurdle at the moment is not having high ceilings and more space to accommodate professional lighting for commercials and a video village for bigger productions. 

I’m currently in the market to find a warehouse space so I can finally bring all my different visions to fruition. God Willing. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
If you ask my colleagues, they would say I’m a jack of all trades. 

Beauty, fashion, and production are my tiNgs. 

I’m known for using creative ways of marketing on social media before it was a requirement. My indirect marketing strategy has put me in places that only God could. 

Last year I started my company The Creative Firm Visuals. A multimedia production company. 

We are storytellers. Our Network of professionals produce photography concepts and video content. Together with our partners, we help develop unique concepts, build awesome productions, and capture exceptional content that curates into engaging videos and brand shots. 

I am most proud of the fact that I get to create with other professionals I’ve known over the years. 

I believe what sets me apart from the rest, is my ability to see a cohesive vision and bring it to fruition. 

What matters most to you? Why?
Right now, what matters most is getting to the next stages in business. 

I have the vision and marketing in place… I just need square footage i.e., a warehouse to accommodate all of this creativity. 

I have been a hairstylist for the last 10 years, but it’s always been a dream of mine to be a fashion/ interior stylist and set designer. 

I look at my vision board daily to make sure my actions are aligned with my goals.
