Today we’d like to introduce you to Haile Ferrier.
Hi Haile, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started as a dancer quite young but began performing music theatre at age 7 when my mom signed me up for a high school musical jr. camp. From there on I fell in love with performing and continued to seek out new opportunities in every state I moved to. Community theatre and school theatre became my training and a tool to ground myself while moving around the country.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like I said, I moved towns, states, and schools quite a lot. I also struggled as someone who was undiagnosed neurodivergent for a whole. This caused me to struggle in school. I also grew up with a family who had no stake in musical theatre. No one had ever pursued it as a profession and we figured things out as we went. I made a lot of my own opportunities as I had no awareness of how things were “usually done” for other people that had made it in the business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actor, singer, dancer. I am known for my music theatre career and specifically my time with the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen where I understudied both female leads Zoe and Alana on the 1st national tour. I am now originating Christine Daae in the Diane Paulus directed immersive production Masquerade in NYC.
