Conversations with Glauco Alves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Glauco Alves

Hi Glauco , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Glauco is a UK based professional guitarist, session player and a producer, who has collaborated and performed with a number of artists in the UK, France, Brazil and USA.

He has over 20 years of experience in performing, writing music and collaborating with original artists, writing a variety of soundtracks for adverts, video games and performing in TV shows.

Glauco is also a master of copying songs and performing them exactly as the originals on his guitar.

He’s been featured as an invited artist from LSL Instruments at NAMM 2018 in Los Angeles, performing alongside well established names in the music industry.

He has dedicated the last few years to writing and recording original music pieces, solo and in collaboration with other musicians.

Because I’m relocating, my bio still says UK.
I’m also going to be spending time on the East Coast.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Everything changed since 2020. But as they say, what doesn’t kill you make you stronger.

There still amazing opportunities on the music industry and I’m happy to say that as long as I live, I will serve as a musician.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a guitarist with many years on my belt.

I’ve performed with lots of signed artists on big stages as well as live tv.

I’m also a happy man whenever working for a producer, creating things that are not necessarily my “cup of tea” because that allows me to explore new places I’ve never been.

I’m a humble man, so most of the time I let the others speak their minds about my work, regardless if something I’ve created for an advert or my original music.

I tend to focus on the process, how to achieve and unlock the things I hear in my mind.
Once that’s done, it’s no longer in my hands to decide what’s good or not, it’s the listeners business.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I see music as the ultimate art, the ultimate form of expression.
Perhaps tone and feel are the two things that makes that possible, and I see it as a true gift.
I believe that’s my most valuable assets and the reason I’m still working and making the difference, somehow.
