Today we’d like to introduce you to Dj Topgun
Hi dj, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I Grew up skateboarding my whole life in cleveland ohio. A lot of my skate friends moved to LA right when we turned 18 & i would always come out and visit them. I started making music during covid & decided to make the move out here as well. I used the connections i made through skating in LA to help push my electronic music project. during that process i met Alex who is the lead singer of the band i play bass in called Alexsucks. I just like to make music & kick it with my friends. it’s pretty crazy im able to make a living off of it. i’m very blessed.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all haha. it’s been a struggle for the past 4 years. i honestly have had a hard time finding myself & who i want to be. but for the first time in my life im pretty comfortable right now. i think surrounding yourself with the right people is the most important thing in life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
i guess you can say i’m an artist/ producer. i have an electronic project called DJ Topgun which is Techno/House based music. & i’m in a band called Alexsucks, which i play bass in. before either of those i originally came up as a hip hop/rap dj/producer, but i kinda got sick of having to follow the image / personality of other artists so i just decided i was going to be my own artist.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
don’t worry about what other people think. i still struggle with this too, but ur gunna make ur best work when you’re truly just being yourself & not caring what other people think.
