Hi Debbie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Personal Brand Photographer and I create visual content for passionate entrepreneurs who want to stand out in their industry and make a difference.
I have been a photographer my whole adult life. I started my career with weddings and shot more than 500 – I loved all the romance and fabulous details. I then pivoted to families and high school seniors and loved creating beautiful personal portraits for my clients to hang in their homes. Pure joy!
Through those years I would have small businesses call for headshots and I’d photograph them in a lifestyle way – that was the precursor to now and my Personal Brand Photography business!
I love helping my Personal Brand clients find their confidence in front of the camera! So many are super confident in their business, but not in photos. I also help my clients with strategies to clarify their brand and to engage well on Instagram so that they can visually stand out in their industry and ultimately grow their business.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Until 2020, I was creating images for my Personal Brand Photography clients but I was only behind the camera.
In those months of shutdown, I decided to do what I preached to my clients – show up on social media by showing my face! I created mini- shoots around my house and in local outdoor areas, took lots of photos of myself and posted, posted, posted.
I stopped being self-conscious in front of the camera, my Instagram and FaceBook followers went up … and then when things opened up, I booked, booked, booked!
I am a textbook success story of understanding my brand, figuring out how to create content to add value and showing who I am on social media. When my ideal clients can get to know me, they like me, trust me and book with me!
I am passionate about helping others achieve their dreams and goals. With fabulous images that support and clarify their brand, they can be seen by their ideal clients, serve them and help them change their lives.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I love when potential clients say that they saw images that I created and knew that I must have taken them! My style is fun, energetic, colorful and vibrant.
I definitely want my clients to have a fabulous experience from beginning to end. That is super important to me. Before the Photoshoot, we have a Zoom consult and then more conversations to choose the right colors for clothes and props. Perfect locations that are on brand are important and we also discuss where and how they will be using the images. Timing is important for the best light and vibe. We discuss it all!
So many things go into being a great Personal Brand photographer and I am happy to help my clients have amazing images that they will use to elevate their website, social media and brand.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I feel like I’m a pretty open book, haha! Lots of posting on Social Media will do that to you.
One thing that I am starting to do is travel for clients! I love to go to their hometown and it definitely adds to the appeal of their personal brand. Of course, they can still come to me and we’ll get great images, but you’ll be seeing more posts in the future of photoshoots out of town!
