Conversations with Crash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crash.

Crash, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Crash Davidian started in 2024 between my friend Monty and I, mostly because we were pretty tired with our respective projects. We holed ourselves up in his studio working on music in what I would call a “true collaboration” as we both wrote the music/lyrics, layering on top what the other wrote. After 6 months we released the first single “Body / Blood / Soul” in June followed by “Pain Needs Suffering” in November. At that point Monty decided to bow out.

2025 I took Crash Davidian to the stage and put all of my focus in that field. I managed to do a successful west coast tour as well as take part in the first ever LA Industrial “Battle Of The Bands” event on Aug 30th. I’ve never been one to take part in something like that but the demand for me to do it was too high to ignore. I ended up coming in second place, something I never imagined would happen.

On the release front, a few things were released in 2025: The “Edge Of Apathy” single in July and the live EP “Live On Darque Party Radio 7/6/25” in October. Crash Davidian got signed to the underground label Violet Hours Transmissions and they released limited edition cassette “424” as well as limited edition merch (shirt, stickers, pins, etc). The “424” cassette collected all the songs that were released in 2024.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not been a smooth road. There is no map available to help navigate through this, and what works for one person will not work for another. There were (and are) so many twists and turns with absolutely no idea which is the “right” direction to go in. Things tend to be “let’s throw it on the wall and see what happens.” More so since I’m a solo artist. There’s nobody to bounce ideas with and all the financial responsibility falls on my shoulders.

On the flip side, as frustrating as this can be it is also what makes this journey an adventure. Each experience brings new knowledge, new situations, new doors to go through. It keeps things exciting. If anything the whole thing will make a great story.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Crash Davidian is an industrial rock music project that specializes in hard dance beats with a rock n roll attitude. A lot of the music is reminiscent of the classic industrial sound that was released in the 80’s. To get a true answer on what sets Crash Davidian apart from other artists you’d have to ask the fans. What I think sets Crash apart is that there is a sense of melody and warmth within the music. The music is not just there to present a dance beat, it’s to convey a certain feeling that represents the lyrics.

Another thing that sets Crash Davidian apart from other artists (and this is what I’ve been told by concert goers) is the live show. At the moment it’s pretty bare bones with just me up on the stage, but people have come up to me and tell me that I bring a level of energy/drama/intensity that keeps people watching. Even though it’s bare bones at the moment people can’t help but be entertained.

A lastly it’s my voice. I’ve been told that it is very strong, very powerful. It’s aggressive but it is also clear. It’s melodic and something that is rarely heard in this genre of music. I’m proud of all the things I’ve listed but this last bit is the one that I’m most proud of. I never thought anything of my voice and to hear how much people appreciate it makes me feel good about what I’m doing.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as being truly happy with what one is doing with their life despite all the frustrations, setbacks, failures, pitfalls.
