Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Christopher.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Brandon Christopher. My journey to where I am today was far from a straight and narrow one, quite the opposite, actually. Filled with many twists and turns and ups and downs. In this one life, I have already live many. At a young age, I was forced to grow up rather early; for most of my childhood, I grew up within the foster care system. At the age of 17, I began living on my own as I finished high school and subsequently went to college. While I was in college getting my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, and as a seasoned makeup artist, I started a hair and makeup agency in the New England area. Our team of makeup artists, hair stylists, and photographers traveled from Boston to NYC for various fashion shows and editorial photoshoots, including NYFW.
However, after college, I began my transition from the makeup world to the medical world. Having working in major hospitals in the ICU and Emergency Dept from coast to coast, primarily in Boston and LA. During that time as a nurse, my makeup career from a prior life naturally inspired the transition to the world of medical aesthetics. As I continued to practice as a Critical Care Nurse, I simultaneously operated a medical spa office on Newbury Street, the fashion capital of Boston.
However, during covid, as the world shut down and business closed their doors, I was forced to do the same. So, I moved to LA to pursue a critical care Covid job at Cedars Sinai in LA. I feel in love with LA in more ways than one and decided to make it home.
Now, a choose to live bi-coastally between the two gayest zip codes in the country West Hollywood and Provincetown, MA. I summer in Provincetown and winter in LA. And as we speak, I am opening up a wellness medical spa in Provincetown, a more modern, health-focused take on the traditional medical spa. One that is more aligned with my values. Over the past several years, I have garnered several certifications that are more align with my personal philosophy of taking control of your own health and healing and holistic medicine. I have since become a trained Breath Coach and Ayurvedic Bodywork Therapist, in addition to become a Licensed Holistic Practitioner and Spiritual Mentor and Coach.
My career now enables me to empower my clients and enhance their self-confidence, contributing positively to their overall well-being. Many of my clients find comfort in knowing that I not only have expertise in the realm of facial aesthetics but also have an extensive training and experience in the ER and ICU setting.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like anyone, we all face struggles, challenges, and obstacles as we navigate this thing called life. We are all simply out here pretending like we know what we are doing. I, for one, am no exception.
However, I choose to look at my struggles not simply a problem that I need to overcome, but as opportunities to grow, to evolve, and to become better. I, for one, had the odds stacked against me from a young age. From being raised by an alcoholic mother to growing up in foster care to learning how to not just survive on my own at the age of 17 but thrive. I was determined to make something of myself because I, for one, felt I didn’t have another choice. It was sink or swim. And I chose to swim.
As I look back at the more unfavorable life experiences that I have, I cannot help but feel a deep sense of gratitude because it has instilled in me a sense of resiliency that is invaluable. Invaluable in a world where we are all constantly bombarded with energies telling us we aren’t good enough, successful enough, rich enough, or loved enough.
Now in my mid 30’s, even with the wisdom life’s experiences has bestowed upon me, the challenges still come, but how I view them and perceive them is what matters. I choose to believe life is always happening for me not to me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a jack of all trade’s kind of person. As I have retired from bedside nursing, I currently I am practicing as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse, expanding my career in the seaside gay town of Provincetown, MA during the summer months.
I also, on the side, as a Breath and Spiritual coach, I help guide individuals on their path to spiritual growth and development. I help people connect with their inner selves, explore their spiritual beliefs, and understand their purpose and meaning in life. I am also trauma-informed and trained, so I assist individuals in diving deep into the wounds of their past so they can reframe and transcend those experiences into something meaningful and powerful so they can transform their past experiences into a source of strength and fortitude.
I have gained immense clinical knowledge and exposure to many complex medical problems as a Critical Care Nurse for 12 years working bedside in some of the best medical institutions in the world—something my clients appreciate. I use this knowledge in combination with my own spiritual journey of healing and self-discovery to help aid and foster that in others. My goal is to empower others on their own journey to be willing to go the depths within themselves to find healing within and to truly discover who they are at their core.
My mission, now, is to serve others the best way I know how. Sharing my life, my experiences, and my love for those around me.
