Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Ahumada.
Hi Bianca, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been driven by curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of ambition from a young age. Growing up as a triplet, I was surrounded by constant connection, competition, and support, which shaped the way I learned to move through the world always grounded, but always reaching for the stars.
Thanks to my parents, I was raised to be well-rounded in everything I pursued. From playing violin and piano to participating in every sport you can think of. I more than likely did it. Most importantly I always found myself exploring different ways to express myself through art, music but it was when I was 13, I discovered photography, which quickly became one of my strongest creative outlets. It taught me how to slow down, observe more intentionally, and understand the power of visual storytelling in capturing emotion and meaning.
That early creative curiosity eventually shaped how I saw communication more broadly and led me toward wanting to study advertising and entrepreneurship, the intersection of creativity and strategy.
My academic journey was a bit unconventional. I took an accelerated path through school, starting with dual enrollment at San Pedro High School through this my dual enrollment program called SPECA, which allowed me to earn college credits while still in high school. By the time I graduated, I had already earned two Associate of Arts degrees in Liberal Arts & Sciences from Los Angeles Harbor College.
From there, I transferred to the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, where I set a personal goal to graduate in two years. I followed through and completed my bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a minor in Entrepreneurship at 20 years old. That experience taught me discipline, long-term thinking, and the importance of trusting a path that doesn’t always look traditional.
After graduating, I became even more interested in what I was pursing during my college education. I knew I wanted to continue storytelling whether that was through branding, creative work, or photography and being the outlet for people to connect. That’s what naturally pulled me into social media and creative strategy.
Today, I’m working as a Social Media Coordinator at BLND Public Relations, where I continue to grow within the company and brand storytelling while continuing to build my own personal brand. I’ve learned that growth rarely follows a straight path it takes patience, hard work, and the ability to stay focused on your goals even when things shift. I hope my story encourages young girls and women to keep going after what they want, to not be discouraged by obstacles, and to trust that timing has a way of working itself out.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It honestly wasn’t too challenging in the way most people might think. I made a point to maintain a good work-life balance throughout my academic journey staying involved in clubs, going out for brunch with friends, networking, and making time to enjoy the experience outside of academics.
One of the more interesting parts was being in classes with students who were older than me. At times, I experienced a bit of imposter syndrome and would think, ‘What am I doing here?’ But over time, I learned to overcome that by trusting myself and showing up with confidence, as if I fully belonged because I did.
That shift in mindset ended up opening a lot of doors for me, from building meaningful post-grad friendships to studying abroad in London, which was one of the most impactful and memorable experiences of my life.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In being a social media coordinator, i’ve been managing content that brings brand stories to life across digital platforms. My work sits at the intersection of strategy and storytelling, building content that is both intentional and visually engaging.
In working at BLNDPR i’ve been able to create content for several client social accounts, as well as working on campaigns that involve travel. Not to mention being the photographer of the shoot. It’s helped me gain more confidence in my myself and solidify what my talents are capable of.
On the side, I also do social media and like to showcase my photography as like the utimate pinterest board in real life. For fun I would post my travel photography and one of my most proud moments was getting asked by CondeNaste Traveler to have my image featured on their social page.
Ultimately what sets me apart is my ability to naturally bridge creativity and strategy. I bring a photographer’s eye for storytelling into the world of marketing and communications, which allows me to think beyond just content creation and focus on how visuals, messaging, and emotion all work together to shape a brand. I also think my background has shaped my perspective in unique ways being a triplet and graduating college at a young age taught me discipline, adaptability, and how to move with intention from an early stage in my life.”
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
my parents, brothers played a significant role in where I am today. Their support, guidance, and presence in my life have been a grounding force throughout my journey which i am eternally grateful for.
For my mom and dad always guiding me into the right path, teaching me to have good moral and good work ethic. For always believing in me even when their were times i differed.
Most importantly, my brothers, D’Marco and D’Angelo, for always challenging me and pushing me to grow. My brother D’Angelo has special needs, and with that have come unique experiences that have shaped the way I see and move through the world. He looks up to me in many ways, and I also look up to his strength and resilience. More than anything, I want him to know that despite any challenges he may face, he is capable of accomplishing anything he sets his mind to, and I hope he always knows that his potential is not defined by those challenges, but by his determination and spirit.
