Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Natalia Hildreth.
Dr. Hildreth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. My parents always worked hard to give the best to me and my sister. They were trying to spend as much time as possible with us, give us the best education, give us all the opportunities to become successful. I graduated from I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and moved to Los Angeles. LA became my second home. While studying to get my US medical license, I also got into social media marketing and content creation. It gives my life balance and lets me stay creative.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s not that easy to prove yourself in another country. Many doctors from different countries are struggling to pass USMLE exams and get US medical license. And I am one of them. It takes time and much effort. Accomplishing new goals may be intimidating depending on how big the goal is. Your road will never be smooth all the time, you will have to struggle on your way. Keep going! You have only one life to live, put all your effort into doing your best. The time is going to pass anyway. And at the end of the day, you’ll go to bed and either feel good about what you’ve done or feel regret. So, you might as well just do the right thing. Don’t be scared to fail, in the long run, it doesn’t matter. All your failures will teach you a lot and give you perspective. These will be the biggest steps on the way to your goal. Create the life you deserve.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I keep studying a lot every day and also work as a social media influencer and content creator. To keep myself in shape and to always stay on track I workout a lot. Boxing classes are my absolute favorite right now.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
I think that’s setting limits for yourself. Don’t set limits for yourself or let anybody else to do it to you… keep growing, educating yourself, keep expanding , developing. Never lose integrity. Don’t spend your time on competing with other people. The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday.
