Today we’d like to introduce you to Tristan Boston
Hi Tristan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started at the age of three with private drum and piano lessons. In school, I played drums for Symphonic, Concert, Jazz and Marching bands. As a teen playing drums/piano for church, The Catholic University “Lion Drummers” and local bands nurtured much joy and discipline. In 2007 I graduated from Full Sail University earning two degrees (A.S. Recording Arts and B.S. Entertainment Business) and course directors award for business communications with perfect attendance. I’m all about being punctual and prompt! After college, I moved to LA and worked with Bunim/Murray Productions coordinating music. My passion has always been production and songwriting so I was able to secure a blanket license for sync placements across their multiple shows including Best Ink, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, The Real World, Road Rules Challenge, Chachi’s World, Total Divas and more. Additional sync placements include feature film Beyond The Lights, The Neighborhood on CBS, Disney’s The Proud Family, Paramount, WWE, NBA, WNBA and NFL. My experience in the music industry are project management for Universal Music Group, Radio Promotions/A&R Atlantic Records and E-Commerce and International marketing for Rhino Records/Warner Music Group. These days I’m actively DBA Fire Hazard Productions producing local/major artists from conception to completion while securing sync placements and partners. I’ve produced and published releases featuring Damian Marley (“Stony Hill” Grammy winning album), Mya, Keke Palmer, Jah Cure, Famous Dex, Pacman Da Gunman, Lil Xan, Nicki Minaj, Snow Tha Product, Alkaline, Beenie Man, Tommy Lee Sparta and many more.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to success is not straight, there is a curve called failure. A loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends and caution called family. You will have flat ties called a job. If you have a spare called determination and engine called perseverance, you will make it to a place called success.
Some struggles are balancing a personal life, mental health and time management. Music is a competitive field and simply not enough hours in the day to keep up with creativity. I came from a family of making your own bed which taught me accountability and hard work ethic. I’m comfortable working under pressure and resolving obstacles with others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fire Hazard Productions?
Fire Hazard Productions was founded in 2002 with services to songwriters and studios. As the founder/producer, my experience with diverse groups and cultures allow tasteful execution of singles, EP’s and full length albums across over 60 genres. A few popular features offered are studio recordings, songwriting, consultations, mixing/mastering and sync pitches. In addition, one stop clearances and in house high quality production.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
LA’s a great melting pot. I’ve always appreciated the amount of culture, freedom and expression everywhere. I’m originally from the east coast (Maryland) so seeing mountains, palm trees and many beaches feels like paradise. LA is one big office, there’s an abundance of creatives in the city however it was a patient process adjusting to the laid back community and passive vibes.
