Today we’d like to introduce you to Toral Parmar.
Hi Toral, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into publishing began with a desire to create something meaningful within my own community. As a South Orange County resident, I saw an opportunity to elevate and connect the incredible businesses, people, and stories that define the area—bringing them together through a platform that feels both refined and intentional.
What started as a podcast vision has since grown into Saddleback City Lifestyle, a luxury print and digital media company serving Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, and Mission Viejo. Today, we offer both print and digital platforms, allowing us to thoughtfully position brands with consistency and impact. As a female—and South Asian—founder, I’ve built this business with a strong focus on relationships, authenticity, and long-term visibility for the partners we work with today.
Beyond the publication, I’m deeply rooted in the community—actively involved across all four local chambers and constantly connecting with business owners and residents alike. As a wife and mother, balancing family and business is an important part of my journey, and it has shaped the way I lead with intention. I often say my greatest strength is connection—I genuinely love bringing people together in meaningful ways, and that continues to be the foundation of everything I build.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road, but I believe that’s what makes the journey meaningful. Building something from the ground up—especially in a space that blends creativity, relationships, and business—comes with its share of challenges.
In the early stages, it was about learning to navigate uncertainty, building trust within the community, and balancing multiple roles at once. As a founder, you’re often wearing many hats—sales, editorial, operations—while still ensuring that the overall vision remains elevated and consistent.
There have also been moments of growing pains, particularly in managing expectations around marketing and helping clients understand that true brand visibility is built over time, not overnight. That has been a learning experience, but also an opportunity to lead with transparency and long-term thinking.
At the same time, balancing business ownership with family life has required intention and discipline. As a wife and mother, I’ve learned to prioritize what matters most and to create structure in a way that allows both to thrive.
Ultimately, every challenge has strengthened my perspective and reinforced why I started—to build something meaningful, lasting, and deeply connected to the community I serve.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Saddleback City Lifestyle is a luxury media company dedicated to showcasing the very best of South Orange County. Through a thoughtfully curated blend of print and digital platforms, we highlight businesses, people, and experiences across Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Aliso Viejo, and Mission Viejo—creating a consistent and elevated presence within the community.
What sets us apart is our intentional approach. We don’t view our partners as advertisers, but as brands we are helping to position and grow over time. Our focus is on long-term visibility, storytelling, and trust—ensuring that each business we feature is aligned with the quality and lifestyle our readers expect.
We are known for creating a refined, “coffee table” publication that lives in the home, not just in the moment. Combined with our digital reach, this allows our partners to stay top of mind in a way that feels organic, credible, and aspirational.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built. This is not just a publication—it’s a platform for connection. Whether it’s introducing business owners to one another, highlighting meaningful stories, or creating opportunities for collaboration, our goal is to bring people together in a way that feels authentic and impactful.
At its core, Saddleback City Lifestyle is about more than exposure—it’s about positioning brands thoughtfully within a community that values quality, trust, and elevated experiences.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is growing up surrounded by a large extended family and a close-knit community. I remember the simplicity of those days—walking to the park, hearing the ice cream truck come down the street, and neighbors warmly greeting one another as if everyone belonged. There was always an abundance of food, laughter, and meaningful conversations, even if I didn’t fully understand their depth at the time.
Looking back, I now recognize how deeply those moments shaped my perspective. As the owner and publisher of a luxury community magazine, I’ve come to truly appreciate the power of connection and the role it plays in bringing people together. That early sense of community continues to influence everything I do today and remains at the heart of how I build relationships—both personally and professionally.
