Community Highlights: Meet Suzanne of Solve & Win, PC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne.

Hi Suzanne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was in college, I got the highest score on my midterm business law class and my professor suggested considering law school. When I spoke to my parents, they reminded me that all my immediate male family relatives had gone to law school (both grandfathers, uncles, and my father), and pointed out that I would be the first female to attend law school, so that was it – I wanted to go because I loved research, writing, and advocacy – and I wanted to help people with legal issues by providing a unique female perspective. I was also a “health nut” (and still am), and had considered medical school as there are several doctors in my family. When I found out about healthcare law when I was interning for Katten while in college, I decided to pursue focusing on healthcare law. My first law job out of law school, which I began while a third-year student in law school, was in house at a California health plan, and I loved the business + healthcare + law combination. I finally got to start my own firm, Solve & Win, a few years later, while working on entrepreneurial endeavors. I also got to launch a platform where lawyers could connect with people who need legal assistance by providing low cost and complimentary content to help them (DIY law videos and legal forms), called LawTake. I also set a record with obtaining several patents for LawTake and then for a women’s health product, to which we are working on an acquisition. All of my successes were obtained through having supportive friends and family and maintaining work-life balance. I exercise and write in a gratitude journal daily, eat healthy, meditate regularly, try to get my beauty sleep, and have a zest for life and where I live, on the Westside.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggle that I have had was losing my father a few years ago to a sudden and unexpected heart attack. He was the rock of my family, and exuded so much love and support for my mom and sister. We were blessed to have him in our lives for as long as we did. He was my mentor, confidante, and inspiration for many areas of my life. I was concerned about my law practice as his sage wisdom had helped advise my clients. Now, sometimes, I have to take a step back and think, what would my father have advised doing? Now that AI has proliferated our lives, I sometimes nickname it, DadAI or DadGPT, as we used to tease him that he was a walking dictionary and encyclopedia.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
