Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Becoming a mom completely changed my life in the best way, but it also came with a season of trying to rediscover myself. During my first year of motherhood, I moved to a new city and was searching for a gym with childcare so I could reconnect with fitness and find a sense of balance again. That search led me to FIT4MOM Chino Hills — and it ended up becoming so much more than just a workout program.
From my very first class, I found something I didn’t even realize I was missing: a village. I was surrounded by moms who understood the highs, lows, and transitions of motherhood, and I loved that our children were able to be part of the journey alongside us. The support, encouragement, and genuine connection I found through FIT4MOM made it immediately feel like home.
After a year as a member, I became a certified instructor because I wanted to help other moms experience that same sense of belonging and confidence. Being able to combine fitness, motherhood, and community became incredibly fulfilling for me. FIT4MOM is truly so much more than a workout — it’s a supportive space where moms uplift one another, build friendships, and navigate motherhood together.
Through FIT4MOM, I also had the privilege of meeting Mercie, who is now my co-owner. We were both instructors who had personally experienced the positive impact of this community, so when the opportunity came to take over the franchise, we knew we wanted to take that leap together. Our goal was simple: to continue creating the same safe, welcoming, and inclusive space that meant so much to us as moms ourselves.
Today, being able to serve our community and help moms find connection, confidence, and support during motherhood is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all — the road to ownership is never completely smooth, especially while balancing motherhood and raising children at the same time. There were definitely moments of self-doubt, exhaustion, and learning how to juggle family life while stepping into a leadership role.
Taking over the franchise also came with a lot of responsibility and a steep learning curve. Beyond coaching classes, we suddenly had to navigate business ownership, scheduling, operations, marketing, and creating a sustainable community for our members. As moms ourselves, there were seasons where we were pouring into both our families and our business simultaneously, which could be challenging.
But one thing that kept us grounded was knowing why we started. We both experienced firsthand how impactful this community can be for moms, and that purpose made the hard days worth it.
Having each other as business partners also made a huge difference — we’ve been able to support one another through the challenges and celebrate the wins together.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
FIT4MOM is the nation’s leading prenatal and postnatal fitness program, providing fitness classes and a supportive network of moms through every stage of motherhood. From pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond, our fitness and wellness programs help make moms stronger in body, mind, and spirit.
What makes FIT4MOM Chino, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar so special is that we are so much more than a workout. We’ve created a community where moms can find connection, encouragement, and support during a season of life that can often feel isolating. Our classes are designed to meet moms where they are, while also welcoming their children into the experience. Whether it’s a stroller workout, a mom’s night out, playgroups, or community events, we strive to create meaningful connections for both moms and their littles.
What truly sets us apart is the village aspect of our brand. At FIT4MOM, moms don’t just come for fitness — they come for friendships, support, accountability, and a space where they feel understood. We want every mom to know she doesn’t have to navigate motherhood alone.
As owners, one of the things we’re most proud of is being able to continue fostering the same welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment that positively impacted us when we first joined as members. We’ve seen moms build confidence, form lifelong friendships, and rediscover themselves through this community, and being part of that journey is incredibly rewarding.
We also love being involved in our local community by partnering with small businesses, donating to local non-profits, hosting family-friendly events, and creating opportunities for moms to connect outside of class. At the heart of everything we do is the goal of helping moms feel seen, supported, empowered, and strong — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending time at the park with my mom. Some of my happiest moments were the simple ones — playing outside, being active, and just enjoying quality time together. Looking back, those moments created such a strong sense of comfort, connection, and joy for me.
I think that’s part of why I value community and motherhood so deeply today. Those memories remind me how meaningful it is to slow down, be present, and create special moments with our children, even in the simplest ways.
