Community Highlights: Meet Stephanie Munson of Moxie Creative Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Munson.

Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Moxie Creative Solutions in 2018, and I will be honest, it was not some grand plan. I got fired. In the middle of figuring out what was next, I landed my first remote work opportunity and the client told me to get a business license. So I did.

What started as dumb luck turned into something I could not imagine walking away from. I had a background in graphic design and had always seen a future for myself in digital arts and creative work. Once I was in it, I realized how much small businesses needed someone who understood both the creative and the strategic side of showing up online.

Honestly, starting Moxie also felt inevitable in hindsight. I had spent time as an employee and always felt out of place. Running my own business is where I belong. This is my natural environment. I named it Moxie because I am a straightforward, bold person and I did not want to give any other impression with my business.

Today I work with small businesses and solo entrepreneurs on branding, web design, SEO, social media, and local marketing. My clients tend to be people who are genuinely great at what they do but just need someone to help the world see that clearly.

For me, that is the whole point. Not the loudest presence online, just the clearest and most trustworthy one.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It started with getting fired, which at the time felt like the worst thing that could happen and turned out to be the best.

The rest of the friction came from within. I am an introvert by nature, and I am still waiting for mind reading to be invented. Communication takes real social energy, and building a client-facing business means you are spending that energy constantly.

But I knew hiding behind my computer was not going to build anything. So I pushed myself deliberately into uncomfortable situations. Networking events. Presentations. I even started my own networking group, which is probably the most counterintuitive thing an introvert can do.

It never got easy. It got necessary. And I found a version of confidence along the way that I did not know I had.

What I did not expect was how much that struggle would shape the work itself. Some of my favorite moments are helping business owners get out of their own shyness and see the potential they have been sitting on. I know what that feels like from the inside.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Moxie Creative Solutions?
Moxie Creative Solutions exists for one reason: to help good businesses stop being the internet’s best-kept secret.

We work with small businesses and solo entrepreneurs on branding, website design, SEO, social media, and local marketing. But the work is really about clarity. Most of our clients are excellent at what they do. They just need help turning that into messaging people understand, visuals that build trust, and a web presence that actually works for them.

What sets Moxie apart is that we do not expect businesses to be anything other than what they already are. We build from their actual voice and real personality, not a corporate template that could belong to anyone.

We also pay close attention to the small things many businesses overlook: a complete Google Business Profile, visibility on Apple Maps, and a presence on Nextdoor. These things are not glamorous, but they can completely change a local business’s visibility.

Beyond client work, I run Women In Business Connections, a networking community built to support and connect women entrepreneurs. Building that from the ground up is something I am genuinely proud of.

Marketing should not feel confusing, pushy, or disconnected from who you actually are. That is the problem we solve.
