Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Herd.

Hi Michelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For as long as I can remember, I have been the one people turned to when
things were difficult. I am the daughter of an immigrant mother and estranged father, I grew up translating documents, managing appointments, and advocating for my family’s needs. I didn’t know it then, but what began as survival would become service. In 2021, I lost my father, aunt, sister, and grandmother in rapid succession. In each case, I found myself at the center, managing medical decisions, funeral arrangements, legal paperwork, and financial affairs across multiple states. With no formal training, I got it all done like I always had, with sheer determination.
But the grief came later… heavier than expected. Through my emotional turmoil, I had lost my confidence, my spunk, and my drive. Faced with many life challenges, I had a dream but was doubtful I could pass the California bar since I had studied out of state. I decided to take the “safe” route into financial planning. But when my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, I found the clarity and courage to go after the career I had always wanted. Caring for my mom reignited my purpose. Leaning into my grit, vision, and the quiet belief that my story wasn’t over yet, I took the CA bar exam, and passed.
In that moment, everything clicked. I realized I could do anything I set my mind to and felt more powerful than ever, ready to take on my dream career as an estate planning attorney. After months of searching for a law firm that aligned
with my purpose, passion, and values, I decided to build my own instead.
That’s when Playa Pacific Law was born.
Today, we serve women and families with the same compassion, clarity, and commitment I have always brought to my loved ones. My legal knowledge is backed by lived experience, financial expertise, and an unshakable belief that peace of
mind is a human right, not a luxury. When clients hire my firm, they are not only getting legal counsel but a lifelong
partner for life’s most personal transitions.
