Community Highlights: Meet Megan Byrnes of Lovestruck Blooms

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Byrnes.

Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey at FIDM Studying Visual Merchandising. Once graduating, I worked in the fashion and entertainment industry, ultimately ending up in the event industry. I tried wedding planning at first, but it wasn’t for me. I got my hands on some flowers and the rest was history. What I love so much about flowers is, every project is so different and so many different things can be created with blooms. We now do weddings, corporate events, baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, you name it we can do it. Flowers has turned into more than just an arrangement on a table or a bouquet for a bride. We take our designs and try to create art, something that hasn’t been seen before.

With Covid hitting our wedding industry so hard this last year, we had to shift to whatever projects would come our way. I’ve fallen in love with customizing flowers to each project and have switched gears to focus on corporate events, installations, and parties more so than weddings. What I love about Lovestruck Blooms is that it was just a small simple company I started but has turned into something people can connect with, I’m a real person going through real life and sharing that journey with whoever will listen. Before Covid, we were successful, and at a followers standpoint we were at about 4,000 on Instagram. The support of the industry and clients has brought us to 11,000 in a year and people have shown so so much support, even though we weren’t doing business as usual. It’s been a wild ride.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not. I started super passionate and excited to be a business owner. Though I still have those qualities, it’s been a tough learning experience navigating through pricing, expectations, whether at events, Covid canceling everything, etc. I’m a people pleaser so I try to see the best in everything but I’ve learned as a business owner, you need to walk of fine line of great customer service and standing up for yourself. I’m still a human.

As you know, we’re big fans of Lovestruck Blooms. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Lovestruck Blooms is a lifestyle flower company creating flowers for any circumstance. We do events, single orders, weddings, parties, you name it, we do it! I think what sets us apart from others is our style. We have a funky trendy meets modern vibe that many people love. What I’m most proud of about this company is the relationships I’ve been able to make with other vendors, clients, and industry leaders. These relationships are invaluable to me and this company wouldn’t be where it is today without those relationships. Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my cats Jade and Poppy, they’re the sweetest little nuggets. Iced Coffee makes me happy cause I don’t know if I’d survive without it. Sunrises make me happy because they paint the scene for a fresh start. Most of all flowers make me happy because they symbolize something so important to so many people. The fact that I can create something to bring so much joy and excitement to people is everything I need in life.
