Community Highlights: Meet Madeline Dunlap of TheraPeds

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Dunlap.

Hi Madeline, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
TheraPEDS began as a calling, born out of both personal experience and a deep passion to make a difference in the lives of children and families. As a pediatric occupational therapist and a mom, I’ve always believed that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and given the tools to thrive. My journey started long before TheraPEDS had a name—watching my own brother with special needs receive therapy services that changed his life and ours as a family. That planted the seed in my heart to one day be part of something bigger than myself.

TheraPEDS opened with a mission to be more than a clinic. We wanted to create a place of hope, joy, healing, and growth. A place where therapists feel empowered, parents feel heard, and kids feel celebrated. We started small but with a big vision: to serve with excellence, lead with love, and always keep God at the center.

Today, by the grace of God, TheraPEDS has grown into a multi-disciplinary pediatric clinic offering occupational, speech, physical, and mental health therapy services. We’ve expanded to new locations, added amazing providers to our team, and impacted countless families—and we’re just getting started. Our growth has been intentional, prayerful, and rooted in our desire to honor God in all that we do. Every child who walks through our doors matters deeply, and every therapist is a light in their lives.

TheraPEDS isn’t just a business. It’s a mission. And we’re so thankful for every person who has been a part of this journey. We give God the glory for how far we’ve come and remain expectant for all that’s still ahead.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, but it’s been full of purpose and growth.

Building and growing TheraPEDS has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, but it’s come with its fair share of challenges. We’ve walked through seasons of staffing shortages, financial strain, growing pains, cancellations, and the ongoing balancing act of leading a business while raising a family. There were moments of exhaustion, self-doubt, and wondering if I was doing enough or if it was all going to come together.

But God has been so faithful. In every obstacle, He’s met us with grace, provision, and strength. The struggles have stretched me, refined me, and reminded me over and over again that I’m not in this alone. I’ve learned to surrender more, trust deeper, and lean on the incredible people around me who believe in this mission.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been worth it. Every child we’ve served, every family we’ve supported, and every therapist who has made a difference makes this journey beautiful—especially in the hard moments. And we know the best is still ahead.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
TheraPEDS is a pediatric therapy clinic with a mission to serve families with excellence, love, and purpose. We specialize in occupational, speech, physical, and mental health therapy for children of all ages, from infants to teens. Our heart is to create a place where every child feels seen, every parent feels supported, and every therapist feels called and equipped to make a difference.

What sets TheraPEDS apart is the atmosphere we’ve created—it’s more than just therapy. It’s a place full of joy, encouragement, collaboration, and growth. Our team doesn’t just treat symptoms—we look at the whole child. We partner closely with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure our kids are getting exactly what they need to thrive, both developmentally and emotionally.

We are known for our culture, our community involvement, and the deep care we bring to every child and family. We keep God at the center of all we do, and we believe that love, grace, and integrity are the foundation of excellent care.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of the environment we’ve created—not just for the families we serve, but for the incredible team of therapists and professionals who make it all possible. We invest in our people, we celebrate our wins, and we walk through the hard moments together. Our new clinic spaces are modern, calming, and kid-focused—but it’s the people inside that make TheraPEDS truly special.

We want your readers to know that we’re here to serve. Whether your child is struggling with a speech delay, sensory challenges, emotional regulation, or fine motor skills—we’re ready to walk alongside your family with faith, expertise, and compassion. We believe early intervention changes lives, and we’re honored to be part of that journey for so many.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to fully trust God in every season, especially the unknown ones.

There have been so many moments when things didn’t go as planned, when I felt stretched too thin, or when I questioned if I was equipped for the calling. But every time I leaned into Him through prayer, surrender, and obedience, I was reminded that this isn’t just my business—it’s His. And when God leads something, He also provides for it.

I’ve also learned that people matter most. Relationships with our team, the families we serve, and our community are what make this work meaningful. Success isn’t just about growth or numbers. It’s about impact, consistency, and showing up with integrity and love day after day.

So I’ve learned to release control, keep showing up, and lead with heart. When we stay faithful to the mission, even when it’s hard, God is faithful to do more than we can ask or imagine.
