Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexus Gordon.

Lexus Gordon

Hi Lexus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in my family’s restaurants and was constantly surrounded by food. It has always been a huge part of my life and my story. I’ve always appreciated good food but never knew how to properly fuel my body. I always felt out of shape and thought I was destined to be “skinny fat”… In high school, I was introduced to Adderall and quickly learned of the weight loss effects it had. I began abusing it through high school and college with one goal: to be as thin as possible. I also began abusing laxatives and diet pills as well as binge drinking, restricting food, and overexercising. It was my way of feeling in control. People began complimenting me on my weight loss which only further drove me to focus on being the smallest version of myself I could be.

In my head, this would make people love, accept, and respect me more. It was a vicious cycle that consumed my thoughts every day. I tried every fad diet, fast and cleanse imaginable. Dieting took over my life and became a very unhealthy obsession. This went on for many years until I was introduced to macro counting by a friend in 2016. Counting your macros simply means keeping track of your caloric intake and specifically paying attention to the amount of protein, fat, carbs, and fiber you’re consuming on a daily basis. That’s when my life changed forever!!!! I learned about the importance of nutrition, strength training, and learning to love yourself and your body. I fell in love with this way of living and quickly realized it was my passion.

In 2020, when I was pregnant with my daughter in the middle of the pandemic, I became certified so I could help others find the same food freedom I found! I have since then coached thousands of women, started my own business, and now have a team of women helping me at LGC! It has been a dream come true helping others. It’s wild to me how much diet, exercise, and confidence plays into people’s daily lives. I love being just a smart part of others’ journeys to recognizing that you can have your cake and eat it too. You can eat food you love without restriction and still work towards being the healthiest, happiest, strongest version of yourself!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been far from a smooth road. I have struggled with binge eating, restriction, and severe denial around my obsessive behaviors. I had dependence issues, and it affected my relationships with friends and family. During this journey, I experienced many food sensitivities, severe digestive issues, IBS, and more. I am finally at such a healthy place with food, exercise, and my body, but it’s taken me over 10 years to get here. After having my two children is really when things changed for me!

In terms of coaching, it definitely was a wild ride to get to where I am as a successful business owner! I was working for another coaching company for about a year and a half, where I gained a ton of knowledge and skills. I think growing up in my family’s businesses and seeing what it takes to be an entrepreneur was the catalyst to me starting LGC. I have always known I wanted to be my own boss. I wanted to start something from nothing. And that’s exactly what I’ve done. It’s been a labor of love, and a lot of work goes into running your own business, but the best part is that it’s YOURS! And you get to do things your way, on your own time.

As a mom of two young toddlers, it is so important to me that I am able to work from home and create my own schedule. It allows me to be a working mom who doesn’t miss out on stuff with my babies!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the proud owner and CEO of LGC! Our mission is to teach others how to fuel properly, lift heavy, and learn to love themselves from the inside out. I do a combination of 1:1 coaching, group coaching, and one-time macro counts. Teaching and educating is my passion. I think what sets me apart as a coach is my “no bullshit” approach. I am empathetic and understanding, but I provide a lot of tough love and encourage people to push past the uncomfortable to unlock their truest potential. I work with all different types of people, both men and women, all ages and any dietary preferences, concerns, or issues. I believe that everyone should at one time count macros as an educational tool that you can carry on with you through your entire life to make choices regarding food that align with your goals.
