Today we’d like to introduce you to Katiria Colon.
Women-Owned Multimedia Network eXpozed TV Is Revolutionizing The Music Industry For Undiscovered Talent eXpozed TV is tackling the lack of connections and knowledge that artists need to navigate the entertainment industry — and it’s a game-changer Since 2016, the award-winning eXpozed TV brand has established itself as one of the hottest multimedia production companies in the US, featuring modern music icons like Neyo, Ty Dolla $ign and Anderson.Paak.
Now, eXpozed TV is adding ‘revolutionary’ to its legacy: the brand officially made history in 2020 in Massachusetts as the ONLY multimedia platform to provide 360 creative services to artists developed an in-house modeling agency featuring diverse women, and most recently, launched a 360 creative agency providing entertainment, Magazine, production, consultation, and management. With a mission to bridge the gap between artists and the media and provide a launchpad for emerging new talent to grow, develop, collaborate and promote their work, eXpozed TV has created a platform to help increase artist visibility and give undiscovered talent a way to take their work global. Whether it’s through their Grind Sessions — a celebrity guest music workshop that lets artists perform for and potentially collaborate with professionals — or by producing a feature documentary and interview for artists through their visual production services, eXpozed TV isn’t afraid to use their platform for good.
On December 1st, they’ll open up their very first production studios, providing a one-stop-shop for all artist needs – whether that’s a photographer, a space to sell merch, or a music video shoot location. “So many talented indie artists go undiscovered and lack the connections and knowledge to properly navigate this industry. We bridge the gap for artists by giving them visibility and helping them to become more entrepreneurial. Also, the multimedia industry is male-dominated and very difficult for women to break into, so we’re proud of women killing it in business!” — KATIRIA COLON, CEO Founded in 2016 by CEO Katiria Colon —the Latina entrepreneur, multimedia personality, TV and radio producer, content creator, and host of eXpozed TV — the platform has since won Telemundo’s ‘Best Upcoming TV Show Of The Year’ award, hosted major events and interviews with celebrities and local artists, developed into a 5-season show with ten episodes per season, launched an in-house modeling agency featuring diverse women and now, as a creative agency, offers entertainment, production, consultation, and management to indie artists. COO and visual director Matte Thomas leads on creative content and ensures each season stays fresh, relevant and different. “The music business in Boston is pretty limited, so my goal is to change the narrative by any means necessary. I want artists from Boston and other cities and countries to be heard and seen, without feeling like they need to move to NYC, Los Angeles, or Miami to get noticed.” — KATIRIA COLON
Despite the COVID-19 lockdown that shook the world this year, eXpozed TV has stayed connected with their artists, helping to motivate them, to keep their career and creativity on top form, and to find new income streams. In collaboration with Katiria Colon, the platform launched a social media series called ‘Free Game’, sharing tips and advice for up-and-coming artists and creating a conversation about making music during the pandemic. Now that lockdown is easing up, it’s time to turn the spotlight back onto the artists. Benny Pough joins forces with Business is Expozed TV to teach young musicians about the industry. eXpozed TV is tackling the lack of connections and knowledge that artists need to navigate the entertainment industry — and it’s a game-changer Benny Pough, serial entrepreneur and former Roc Nation President is taking the lead as the keynote speaker for the third installment of Expozed TV’s music seminar, “The Business Grind Jam Session.: Along with leading Roc Nation in its most successful years, Pough is an author of the book “On Impact” which is an inspirational read for anyone looking to get into the business. “The Business Grind Jam Session” has proved to be one of the most successful seminars in the history of Business is Expozed TV’s history. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur hasn’t been a smooth journey, but if it were smooth, it wouldn’t be worth it. I don’t regret anything. Everything has built up my character. A lot of the struggles are being a woman and heard. Music and entertainment is a man dominated industry. As a woman, I feel I have to work harder and make my voice heard. I remember being in a room full of men DJ, music executives and I was the only woman. At that point in the meeting, I felt I had to prove myself and be heard.
Any big plans?
