Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Wagner.
Hi Emma, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have had an amazing life. I was born in Algeria, in northern Africa, to French parents. My dad was an MD, a surgeon with the French military. When I was about ten years old, my mother moved us, myself and my younger brother, back to France to live while my father continued to work for the military in various African countries. We traveled a lot in my youth, mainly in Africa and Europe, until I was 21. At 21 years old, I moved to California to study Chiropractic. I received my Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West in 2000. I met my husband in chiropractic school, and we moved back to France in 2001, where we got married, opened a private practice, and started a family. We lived in the southwest of France for 13 years.
In 2014, we moved back to the USA to spend time and help my husband’s parents, who were increasing in age. We joined them in San Clemente, CA, where we lived together in a multigenerational home and live there still. Our kids have grown and are now 18 and 21. They are still at home with us and keep us busy.
Professionally, we own a wellness center. Over the years, we have collected healing tools and “savoir-faire” (working knowledge) to help our clients reclaim their vitality. Our work is a body-mind approach that helps create coherence between the physical body, the emotions, and the mindset/mental to help release stress and trauma from the body and mind.
We are fascinated by how the mind-body works. Being a couple that is interested in growing together and bettering our skills, we practice with and on each other weekly and often compare notes on something new we learn. We are always looking at ways to optimize our lives and help our clients experience deeper, more connected lives.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was smooth. I have a very positive mindset and consider challenges and failure as ways to learn. Of course, we had struggles and challenges, and we often tell ourselves, “We are highly adaptable; let’s make the best of this situation.”
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is a wellness center called San Clemente Vitality Center. It is the concretization of 20 years of learning and wellness hacks.
We started with a chiropractic office and realized that to really help our clients, we needed to branch out to work more than just on the physical system. Chiropractic is an amazing tool with a simple premise: to stimulate the nervous system and allow the body to heal itself. In this modern world, we feel that only chiropractic is not enough to fully heal and live with vitality. We needed to bring in some health coaching to help our patients make better decisions about what they eat and their lifestyle choices. We also brought in detoxification modalities because the world we live in is so toxic today. And yes, we need to protect our environment by recycling efficiently and by consciously choosing what cleaning products we use in the house and what body care products we put on our skin. To help release stored toxins and support our detoxification pathways, we decided to incorporate modalities such as the infrared sauna and the ionic foot detox bath. Because the body can heal itself, we decided to invest in PEMF (Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field) technology and infrared/red light therapy to help the body regenerate at a deeper level and at a faster rate. We’ve also added emotional and mindset work over the years to have a fully holistic approach to health and wellness. A body-mind approach to body-mind healing.
We are very proud to offer a holistic approach. (Body-mind-emotions-soul approach). The future of the health industry is unlimited. What sets us apart is that we actually look for the root cause of issues by looking at health through a pluridisciplinary approach. We look at how your brain connects with the body (chiropractic), how organ function affects your health (functional medicine), how your emotional reality (stress) affects your health, and how your mindset and your motivation (coaching) keep you moving forward on a better path with clarity and an empowered sense. We have a unique approach, and it’s hard to understand how unique and different it is until you experience it.
My assistant this morning was talking to me about her boyfriend and how she had tried for a year to have him come to see me. He just started care, and at first, he was not convinced, not understanding how this would help him. Last Tuesday, we had a breakthrough session where he cried and released a lot of his physical and emotional tension. My assistant was noticing how much more willing he is to work on himself after that “breakthrough” visit.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
There are always trends in the health industry. Everyone likes to look for a new magic pill that will solve all problems. I would like to see the health industry move away from just prescribing medication to focusing on helping the body heal naturally. Focusing on prevention and body optimization rather than simply taking medications to stop annoying symptoms that ask us to make changes in our current lives. I am not against the medical system, as I see its need when there is trauma, such as a car accident or elderly care. But for chronic illnesses linked to diet issues and toxicity, I would like to see more of a regenerative approach.
