Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Mircica.
Hi Bianca, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have had quite a journey! I was obsessed with nutrition, fitness and wellness my whole childhood and adolescence. I remember being really young and only wanting to eat fruits, veggies and bread of course (which I have had a love/hate relationship with since!). I refused to eat many processed foods, not because I was educated around it, but because I intuitively just didn’t like it. I also tried all the fad exercises – everything from tae bo to the OG Windsor Pilates VHS’s (I know I am aging myself a little.) It was something that stuck with me throughout every part of my life and is what I use to ground myself through hard times. I am also the friend and family member that others come to for advice or insight regarding their health and well-being.
I didn’t know I wanted to support others in their health journeys until later on. I became a preschool teacher after college for about 5years and LOVED it! However, I experienced burnout and other factors played into why I left. I thought I wanted to become a “corporate woman in the real world.” So I began my experience in Digital Ad Sales at a mobile company in NYC as a Sales Coordinator. I loved learning a new work environment and the friends I made, but hated selling and the daily grind once I became an Account Executive a year later. I was laid off within another year and hopped to a couple more digital ad sales roles.
After life circumstances forced me to take time off and I found my footing again, I began an intense healing journey after my mom, who was my best friend, sadly and quickly passed. I drove cross country and it was the most free I ever felt. I wasn’t sure how long I’d stay or what was next but I knew my life was about to change and never be the same again. I ended up staying (it’s been 8 years almost to the day) and I haven’t regretted the decision once. I learned SO much about myself through yoga, therapy, holistic healing tools + practices and through nature mostly. I really got a sense of who I am.
I then began working again as a Corporate Event Planner for three years which I also LOVED. It served a purpose for me in gaining planning experience, which is so fun for me, as well as healing through travel. I began to feel the burnout again though as it became too much wear and tear on my body and I needed to find balance and stability. This is when I decided to get certified in Nutrition. I took courses in AFPA but wasn’t; sure what I wanted to do with my certification.
I then went through another soul-searching phase in life but I will spare the details. Through this experience, I learned a lot about business, how to create one and how to run it, although I am still learning as I go. I took a huge leap of faith and put all of my energy and focus into building my company, thrive work.life.balance. I began with creating wellness programs for employees to get in touch with their well-being to avoid the burnout I’ve experienced in the same environments. Then the pandemic in 2020 happened….
I pivoted and my thrive wellness boxes, which were an offering for my clients, became their own product! I had clients ordering appreciation gifts for staff and clients throughout the pandemic and really found fulfillment in being able to offer self-care products to people in a time of need. Once things resumed some “normalcy” again I was able to start programs again but they took on the form of events. This is where I was truly able to combine past skills and what I loved most about previous jobs to provide wellness events in the workplace, on and offsite.
Through this work, I have been able to find my true passion + niche and tie it all together. I am thrilled to announce that I help busy, professional women create sustainable holistic health habits so they can achieve true work.life.balance, feel good in their bodies and avoid future burnout. I am finalizing my online “Balanced Boss” group and 1:1 coaching program now! I am so beyond grateful and excited for this transformative work I get to guide others in. Through my own experience and learning what other women need is how I landed here. I am still working on corporate wellness events but this is where I feel called to and most fulfilled. Rather than other women going through such a long journey to find their peace and balance, I want to help them by sharing what I’ve learned to get them there quicker.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is not always rainbows and butterflies. Not only was the pandemic a major challenge as a new entrepreneur, but so has learning to grow a business in general. I believe that anyone successful fails first. Sometimes, many times. I have not let these hurdles stop me though. I am too passionate and too determined in helping others to achieve true happiness and well-being to stop. I full-heartedly believe in my work.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Thrive work.life.balance is exactly what it says! I want every employee, owner, entrepreneur and professional to thrive! I believe that everyone can achieve this with a little inner work, boundaries and best practices. I believe working hard is important, don’t get me wrong. But I believe more that there is a way to have a fulfilling career as well as a fulfilling personal life at the same time. I don’t believe one needs to be sacrificed.
What sets me apart from others would be the personalization thrive offers. Whether it’s my Balanced Boss program, wellness boxes or CW events, there is nothing generic about any of it. I work closely with clients on what their needs are and we map out a plan together how to achieve their desired outcomes. We track and use feedback to improve each time.
I feel so proud of being able to pivot throughout my journey and vision. I knew when I created thrive that it wouldn’t be perfect right away. I took action every step of the way and listen to what my clients and prospective clients need. I was not set on one way to do things. I seek support both inside and out of my organization because I know that one person cannot do it all. I feel so grateful for my partners, coaches, contractors, friends/family, clients and everyone else who has been along for the ride.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is being able to serve others and see their transformations. It truly brings me joy, fulfillment and purpose in this world.
