Aron Petrosian

Hi Aron, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At the young age of 24, I embarked on an inspiring journey as an entrepreneur by starting my very own home health agency. Motivated by the desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others, I recognized the tremendous potential in an industry that was steadily growing. As I delved into the research, I discovered a burgeoning demand for quality home health services, and I saw an opportunity to establish a business built on providing exceptional care to those in need.

Driven by my innate passion for helping others and armed with an unwavering determination, I embarked on the process of starting my home health agency. I understood that the success of my venture hinged upon not only meeting but exceeding the expectations of our clients. With every step I took, I sought to lay the foundation for an organization that prioritized compassion, professionalism, and excellence in caregiving.

Starting from scratch posed a wide array of challenges, from obtaining the necessary licenses and certifications to assembling a team of skilled professionals who shared my vision. However, I firmly believed in the potential of my agency and persistently overcame every hurdle placed in my path. Through meticulous planning, long hours of strategic decision-making, and countless meetings, I was able to lay the groundwork for a thriving home health agency that would soon become known for its esteemed and comprehensive care.

As I strived to create something remarkable, I recognized the immense responsibility that comes with providing home health services. I understood that the elderly, persons with disabilities, and others in need of assistance were entrusting us with their well-being, often in the comforts of their own homes—an environment that held immeasurable sentimental and emotional value. Consequently, I was determined to create an agency that not only met the medical needs of our clients but also nurtured genuine connections, fostering trust and a sense of belonging among our caregivers and clients alike.

Through my dedication, relentless pursuit of excellence, and never-ending commitment to learning and growth, my home health agency quickly gained a reputation for delivering unparalleled care. With a singular focus on enhancing the quality of life for each individual we served, my agency became synonymous with compassion and professionalism. And as the demand for home health services continued to rise, my young enterprise flourished, solidifying its place in the industry as a trusted provider of exceptional care.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has undeniably been a challenging journey, to say the least. Running the agency has come with numerous obstacles, and over time I have come to realize that not all obstacles can be avoided, but instead must be effectively managed.

One of our main struggles occurred during the early days of our business when we had to decline to provide services to potential patients due to their insurance not being accepted. This issue still persists in our industry today. Many individuals have health insurance that is not accepted by all providers, causing them to fall through the cracks when it comes to receiving at-home care.

To address this problem, I have made it a priority to develop contracts with as many insurance companies as possible in order to extend our services to as many people in need as possible.

We’ve been impressed with Only Care Home Health, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business name is Only Care Home Health. We launched the business is 2021 after seeing the harsh effects of the covid-19 pandemic on our hospital systems. During this time, the hospital system was being exhausted by covid cases, and many times, hospitals didn’t have room for patients to come in for minor, non-covid reasons. That is why we believed the home health business model was amazing, considering the fact that many people that could be seen at home, instead of being in contact with hundreds of people in a hospital was a great idea. It alleviated the hospital system from being overworked and substantially reduced contact and unnecessary spreading of illnesses such as covid-19 with other people.

Our agency then began to grow and offer more services, ultimately resulting in our specialties, which are wound care services and physical therapy services. These two specialties really set us apart from other agencies because it showed the healthcare industry that quality in healthcare does not have to be compromised when services are performed in a home setting as opposed to a medical facility or hospital.

I’d like whoever reads this article to know that starting up a business is not easy, and even when you think the storm has passed, you will start to see more clouds approach you in the distance. It is a constant battle, and there is always work to be done. Whoever tells you otherwise is most probably lying. The most important thing of all is to do something you love and have a passion for.

I’d like to end with a quote my father told me growing up. He would always tell me, ” When it’s your own business you’re working for, there is no clocking in and clocking out. The work never ends because there is always something to do.”

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned along my journey is to be hard working, respectful and to build long-term relationships. If you follow those rules and remain humble, there really is nothing you can’t achieve.
