Today we’d like to introduce you to Arina Ossipova.
Hi Arina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Kazakhstan and came to Los Angeles as an immigrant with a dream to build something of my own. When I first arrived, I didn’t have many resources, but I had strong skills, determination, and a belief that taking care of people could be both healing and artistic.
In 2018, I opened My Ideal Nails in Hollywood. What started as a small pedicure studio has grown into a place where we specialize in complex foot care. Many of my clients are dancers, athletes, nurses, chefs, and hairstylists, people who spend their lives on their feet. Over time, I realized that my work wasn’t only about beauty, but about restoring health, confidence, and dignity.
Most recently, I collaborated with photographers Leonid and Tatiana Matveeva on a creative photo series that turns common foot conditions into visual art. Mushrooms growing out of a toenail, clay breaking into heel-like cracks, these images challenge stigma and show that even what people often hide can be seen as powerful and beautiful.
Today, I see my journey as both entrepreneurial and artistic: building a business that helps people feel comfortable in their own bodies while also using art to start important conversations.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. As an immigrant building a business in Los Angeles, I started with no connections and little guidance. One of the hardest parts has been changing perceptions, many people feel ashamed of their feet or want to simply cover problems with polish, while real healing takes time and patience. I also faced the practical struggles of balancing treatments with running a studio: rent, staff, marketing, creat content in social media and long hours. There were moments of doubt, but every challenge taught me resilience and helped me build a business that reflects both my values and my mission.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At My Ideal Nails in Hollywood, we specialize in advanced pedicure care for people with complex foot needs. Many of our clients are professionals who spend 10–12 hours a day standing: dancers, athletes, nurses, chefs, and hairstylists. Their feet are essential to their lives and careers, and our studio is known for helping restore both comfort and confidence.
What sets us apart is our health-first approach. While many salons focus only on appearance, we look deeper: addressing issues like cracked heels, curved or damaged nails, and skin that needs special care. Instead of covering up problems, we aim to bring lasting results that make people feel proud of their feet again. We also follow the highest standards of hygiene, using only single-use tools and linens to ensure safety for every client.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the mission behind our work: removing shame and stigma. So many men and women feel embarrassed to show their feet, which affects their confidence and even their daily lives. I want our readers to know that there is nothing to hide these issues are common, solvable, and deserve care without judgment.
Beyond the treatments, we also express this message through creativity. Recently, I collaborated with photographers Leonid and Tatiana on a photo project that transforms common foot problems into visual art. The series is called “Where Health Meets Beauty”, and it’s our way of showing that even what people often hide can be reframed as something powerful and inspiring.
At My Ideal Nails, our offerings go beyond a pedicure they are about wellness, self-esteem, and redefining beauty.
How do you define success?
For me, success means helping people feel free from shame and comfortable in their own bodies. Many clients come to me hiding their feet or feeling embarrassed, and the greatest reward is watching them leave with confidence sometimes for the first time in years.
Success also means staying true to my mission: combining health and beauty, creating a safe space without judgment, and using both my work and art projects to start conversations that change how people see themselves. On a personal level, success is building something meaningful from nothing, as an immigrant and entrepreneur, and knowing that my journey can inspire others to keep going.
