Community Highlights: Meet Ange Hadid of Ange Hadid 18K Fine Jewelry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ange Hadid.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up with a mom who had a recurring motto: never pay for fake gold.

It wasn’t until I started shopping for jewelry as an adult that I realized that the jewelry market was breaking that rule from every dimension.

For the longest time, the most desirable gold, 18 karat solid gold, has been unfairly gatekept behind legacy logos and absurd markups. But that’s a market problem, not a gold problem.

I built Ange Hadid to change that.

There are two fundamental truths about gold that I realized the jewelry industry has broadly forgotten.

First, gold is an asset. It’s a store of value and it can be traded like you would stocks, commodities, or currencies. During my grandmas’ time, women couldn’t own property or open bank accounts. Instead, their families would gift them gold if they had it, so that if things ever got tight, they had something valuable they could sell.

Second, gold is literally stardust. It was created billions of years ago when stars crashed into each other out in the universe. It has intrinsic value because of its unique properties, it’s actually scarce, and it cannot be replicated in a lab.

But the US jewelry industry today has completely lost touch of this and what fine jewelry should be. Instead we mainly see low purity golds like 14k and below, pricing is no longer fairly being tied to the jewelry’s true gold value, markups being largely arbitrary and based on hype and logos, and often gold is essentially disrespected by taking cheap metals and dipping them into what is basically gold paint.

My grandmas would be rolling in their graves if they found out women today are dropping hundreds of dollars on plated gold, vermeil, or low-purity gold.

Here’s the thing. When you understand gold is an asset with real intrinsic value, the standard becomes obvious: 18 karat solid gold is the most elevated option for jewelry. It’s a strong, durable blend for everyday wear while being a high-purity, valuable gold. This is why you’ll see for good reason that it’s the gold of choice for all respected, legacy jewelry powerhouses globally.

But it’s locked up behind those legacy logos at outrageous price tags or by old-school jewelers charging high markups.

That gatekeeping is exactly the problem I set out to solve, so I went down the rabbit hole and traveled across Italy and Lebanon, spoke with tons of generational goldsmiths, toured ateliers, and bought my first batch of 18k solid gold jewelry to test the market.

Everything sold out immediately, and from there I launched Ange Hadid to make actually-fine 18K solid gold accessible again and to evangelize what “fine jewelry” should mean.

The status quo can be changed. We’re here to make luxury 18 karat solid gold become a common purchase for everything from everyday wear, to gifts, milestones, inheritance, and even savings. No gatekeeping, no games. Just valuable stardust you can wear.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not smooth, but absolutely worth it!

One of the biggest rollercoaster struggles has been gold prices skyrocketing over the past year, which naturally impacts our costs as well as jewelry prices. There’s been a sweet spot we had to find for keeping pricing accessible while staying profitable.

Running a brand in LA also means competing with big marketing budgets, while staying true to a more honest, substance-driven approach.

And of course, educating customers on the perception around 18k is a big effort. The main POV out there is that 18k “belongs” to the legacy houses, and that it’s out of reach otherwise. We’re here to prove that it shouldn’t be this way!

As you know, we’re big fans of Ange Hadid 18K Fine Jewelry. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Ange Hadid is a fine jewelry brand sourcing 18K luxury jewelry from generational goldsmiths. Our jewelry is fairly priced according to true gold value, not arbitrary markups, and we share the exact gram weight of the pieces you’re buying.

We exclusively offer 18K, what I like to call the queen of gold. No plating, no vermeil, and no low-value golds. 18K is the perfect balance of gold color, durability, and high gold value.

I’m so deeply proud and grateful that we’ve been able to build trust with our customers so quickly. People message us saying things like, “I’m so happy I get to have something I can pass down once I have kids or grandkids.” That’s the highest compliment possible. It’s a future heirloom, but it’s yours first!

The beautiful thing about it being a valuable gold purity is that you pass it down with actual economic value, not strictly sentimental value. You can melt it down and turn it into something brand new and you’re getting more bank for your buck than low purity golds.

Ange Hadid is a home for people who love fine jewelry and want to buy into something truly valuable that will outlive them, and is also a home for those who grew up in cultures valuing real gold and finally feel seen.

We’re here to make real fine jewelry accessible again. If you’ve ever felt priced out of 18K gold, or confused by what’s real and what’s smoke and mirrors, we built this brand for you.

What makes you happy?
There are so many thrills when it comes to running this small business. Something that makes me happiest is successfully sourcing a piece of jewelry that somebody wanted to find in 18K. I do offer private sourcing and love to go on a hunt and find something successfully.

I also love creating things that last. There’s something grounding about building a brand based around permanence in a world where everything feels disposable. And honestly, seeing customers wear their pieces every day like second skin, while sleeping, showering, living in them, is so gratifying.

Pricing:

  • Because we price according to true gold value, our pricing is dependent on the market rate of gold at the time the jewelry was made.
  • As of November 2025, our prices range from $270 to $1,200.
