Check Out Veronica Rivera’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Rivera

Hi Veronica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I didn’t want to work for someone else. Once I got a little older, I saw my school peers getting summer jobs. I decided; Why not give it a try? Doing this only solidified the fact that I didn’t want to take that route. After graduating High School in 2017 a friend and I started our own clothing brand, which for a couple of reasons didn’t work out. We were young and grew apart as time went on. Nonetheless, the process helped me realize this; I’m willing to pull all strings necessary to discover what I’m truly passionate about. I attended college for two years, then the pandemic hit. My first time trying lash extensions on myself was during the pandemic and by this time I also knew that I didn’t want to go back to school. With practice I became confident I could do lash extensions and maintain a business. From there I worked my way up to where I am now. When I lash, I’m inspired by my clients. Watching them leave with a smile on their faces brings me joy. Knowing that I never have to work for anyone other than myself is an accomplishment in itself.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any business, one of the most significant challenges I’ve faced is the slow start during the initial stages. It was often discouraging. The only source of motivation came from within. Having my own business entails taking on multiple roles, from creating marketing strategies to making sure I pick high quality materials. My approach requires versatility and provides a deep sense of involvement with my brand. One thing I struggled with when I started lashing was making the lash fans. Since I couldn’t get the hang of it, I began with easy fans to maintain momentum. Once I grew more comfortable, I transitioned to making loose fans, which I craft myself. Now, I find the whole process easy and even therapeutic.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Lash extensions aren’t a one style/size fits all. They help define the look of a person because everyone’s eyes are different. Some of us have bigger, smaller, almond-shaped, hooded, or even round eyes. which is why they take time and need to be tailored to each person. Some of my clients prefer long lashes, some go for the shorter lengths, a handful of them like to add color, or even spikes. I do it all. Everyone is different, the best part about it is that everyone gets to leave satisfied because the lashes I create are made just for them. The different curls, lengths and styles are all a part of what makes the process enjoyable for me. My specialty and most requested style is full volume sets; which I absolutely love doing. It makes me happy to always be able to fulfill what my clients ask for.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I wouldn’t say luck but definitely God. I’m a firm believer that whatever God has for you will always be for you. I also believe that with a lot of hard work and dedication you can achieve anything you want in life.
