Check Out Sarah Seeds’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Seeds.

Hi Sarah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been acting since I was little (age 9) in plays and it blossomed from there.

It’s been a journey, moving to NYC, joining SAG-AFTRA, booking work that has taken me all over the world, starting a production company, making pitch-decks, selling TV Pilots, creating films and developing/packaging features.

I have also enjoyed my time as a National Board Member of SAG-AFTRA – especially during times of growth and challenges in our industry.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Is any road smooth? I come from a VERY non-nepo place. I came from small town America, with an air mattess, a cardboard box for my lamp, and a burning dream (and obsession) of my craft.

Everything I have now is because I kept moving and through the mentors, collaborators and beautiful creative folks I’ve met along the way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an Actor first. Full stop. I work predominantly in film/TV. I come to it with a different lens because I’m also a creator. I’ve sold a show to Amazon Prime (which is how I got into the TV Academy performers category) and I’m constantly making bigger and bigger projects as I travel along this journey.

I see things with a “big picture” sense, and I truly thrive in collaboration. Nothing is too precious.

I’m very proud of “Riding the D with Dr. Seeds” (Comedy on the NYC D Train – now on Plex TV) and “Bathed in the Night” (Directed by my husband/collaborator, Michael Pizzano – written by & starring me). I’m also proud of my work on Comedy Central, ABC, HBO (to name a few) and a recent jump back into theater at The Player’s Theater in NYC, where I was nominated for a Broadway World award for “Check, Please!” By Carol Croland.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was always a little extra. I’d sometimes dress as a pirate to preschool. One Halloween I was Belle. The next, the beast. My first role was a Lawyer trying to shut down Noah’s Arc (completely factual for sure) named Filo Q. Faxit and I brought the house down. It was exhilarating!

I also continued to train in dance, and play soccer (My competitive personality flourished) while I did plays and musicals in downtown Richmond, VA.
