Check Out Mel Jimenez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mel Jimenez.

Hi Mel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m an operating room registered nurse by day and a foodie after hours. I first started to post stories of food on my personal page but my friends at work challenged me to start a food page from scratch. It first started off as a Disney food & event page but I wanted more people to enjoy food outside of the parks. That way it’s more accessible than just yearly pass holders.. My take is more informational and entertaining. I’m not a critic, so I’m not here to judge based on my personal taste or bias on food. Restaurant owners and vendors give their all to their craft. I’ll show them off as best as I can even if it’s just a two item combo. If they feel it represents them the best, then I’ll do my best in return.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Initially it’s been a struggle to build my page up, gain more followers, and have more opportunities to help restaurants. But the payoff has been getting follow up messages that say my reel of their restaurant helped turn business around from near closing to continued success.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At my day job, the operating room’s job is to fix people’s problems that require surgery. I enjoy what I do and find fulfillment in that I have my best care while they are at their most vulnerable situation.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The inland empire has a great mix of cultures and food spots. Although I get more LA and OC county restaurants reaching out, I’d love to do more for the inland empire.
