Today we’d like to introduce you to Loretta Richert.

Hi Loretta, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The real root of Heirlume is relationships. The company was started by two best friends, Loretta and Pamela, and keeping that ethos has been a pivotal part of our growth. We wanted something beyond just a group of talented photographers. We wanted Heirlume to be a crew of like-minded creatives who truly liked each other! Over the years we have slowly grown to a team of six and there is a deep mutual respect between everyone. This may seem like a small thing, but it’s a huge part of what we bring to the table. When we show up for a wedding, it is as a real team. We get along, we have the other’s back, we understand the unique creativity of the other and we support that. And we bring that same energy to our relationship with clients. We don’t just want to book every wedding, we really care about being the right photographer for each specific couple. We want to vibe! We believe that the through-line of real friendships, both with one another and our couples, is how we have gotten to where we are today 🙂

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We have been lucky enough to have a fairly smooth experience but of course every business has it’s challenges. Figuring out a way to grow our company while maintaining it’s authenticity and quality is something we have given a lot of time and attention to. It is always tricky to find the balance between taking on more employees and keeping your brand consistent. We have found wonderful associate shooters and videographers and are so incredibly happy with our team!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We think what sets us apart is how much intention we put into our relationships with our clients along with our skill set of navigating a wedding day and the delicate balance of being too involved while also being a fly on the wall. We are great at “reading the room” and stepping in when needed to make our clients feel comfortable and supported all while letting the magic of the day unravel. This creates a very unique and bonded relationship with our clients that lasts beyond the wedding day. The dream is to stay connected with our clients as their life takes form in different ways. We don’t want to just show up to a clients’ wedding day and then never see them again! We want that email telling us they are pregnant with their first child and want maternity photos. We want to take their family portraits each year and watch their family grow. We want mom to reach out for a boudoir session when she wants to celebrate the beauty of her body and all that is has created. That has always been the goal. Not to stop at weddings, but to be a part of all those big life moments <3

Doing creative work that we love, alongside dear friends, for clients we vibe with 🙂
