Check Out Leila Leilani’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leila Leilani.

Hi Leila, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started on a very straight, driven and focused path. A tomboyish girl who grew up in sports (basketball, martial arts, boxing) & loved to read, I knew I wanted to fuse my love of athletics with my love of learning. Fast forward to my graduating law school while coaching fitness boxing on the side to have an extra income. I had every intention of becoming a sports agent with a law degree to support all the contracts and deals I intended to close. Oh, how fate had other plans! At the end of taking the bar exam, I just couldn’t bring myself to reconcile the fact that I just couldn’t let the coaching go. I loved the community it provided, the empowerment I was able to give, and the way it absolutely changed people’s lives. I tried to do both for a while, training clients as early as 5am and then changing into my professional alter ego at my law firm for the rest of the day. Deep inside, I knew both of these worlds were not sustainable. I finally really listened to myself in silence & realized my passion lay with fitness & this leap of faith was a no-brainer. I gave up my corporate job and went head first into my boxing fitness career. And man! Ever since choosing this journey, I’ve never been more blessed or sure that this is my calling.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The ride hasn’t always been smooth.. but what journey worth taking is all smooth sailing?? I’d say some of the initial struggles I faced was learning to “bet on” myself despite the noise that swirled in my head of letting my parents down by choosing a less secure/convention path, the opinions of others, and my own moments of self-doubt. The funny part is that I quickly realized that when I moved with intention and operated in passion… I couldn’t fail. I was put on earth to do this & walking in my passion invigorated me to attack every session, class, and opportunity with tenacity… I will always bet on myself. And I’m so thankful for those struggles building my confidence and resilience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work means so much to me because I know it wasn’t always my original journey. I worked hard to find it so I’m not gonna let it go. That being said, I am passionate about boxing fitness and the way it can change your physical, mental, and spiritual self. I’d say really try to make boxing accessible but especially! To women. I want them to know that strong and sexy are not mutually exclusive and that self-confidence is not just found in how you physically look.

I’d say specialize in the theory of “come just as you are”, any look, credence, skill level… I want you to tap into a side of you you didn’t know existed. Whether it’s tapping into how to throw a proper jab to just establishing the discipline to wake up early and work out..all people deserve to find their most confident self and to have a safe space to do so.

I’m most proud of the amazing human beings I’ve been able to work with and get to know over the years. The amount of stories, journeys, and changes I’ve been able to witness will stay with me throughout my life.

I can’t believe I get to wake up in the morning and emulate a modern-day “warrior princess”, giving of myself to empower others & help them find the most powerful forms of themselves.

If I’m honest, I think what sets me apart from others really has nothing to do with me. It’s all about me being convinced that I have the absolute best team surrounding me. The people in my life are inspiring, challenging, and dynamic. They push me, they’re the reason I continue to level up and share my passion with the world.
